Did you ever watch a sequel and it made you question if the first ones were that great to being with?

It has some fun moments. I’d say it was 40% fun and 60% cringey. The fact is 50 year olds don’t say “bogus” and the 20 year old daughters can’t nearly be sheltered enough to act like their fathers did in 1989.

It really feels like they thought of an ending and worked their way backwards from there. On its own merits, it probably a 5, but I’m deducting a point because it could and should have been better.

4/10 I’ve basically forgotten it already.
This was one of the movies I was stupid enough to pay inflated rental prices to watch in place of a cinema visit. Wouldn't say I'm a die hard B&T fan, but I did enjoy the films as a kid, and even remember watching the Saturday morning cartoon show.

I pretty much agree with everything you've said. It just didn't work for me, I found it even cheesier than
usual, the jokes fell flat, and I was simply bored.

The daughters in the movie are ok, I quite like Samara Weaving in the Babysitter movies on Netflix. Still, neither have any real charm or charisma here. It feels like a poor tribute act to the original B&T characters.

The ending, without going into big spoilers just felt so forced and ret-conned in to fit the current zeitgeist and left me utterly cold.

    Shouldn't have bothered/out of 10
