Watched 300 again last night for the first time in probably a decade. It is very cheesy at points, and some of the CGI looks a bit blurry, but I love this film. Great action, great build up, tons of gore and slow-mo, and surprisingly impressive visuals overall. Gerard Butler is great in the lead role, Lena Headey is awesome as always, and it's a thoroughly enjoyable romp. As a side note though, I feel like I've been playing a game of spot Michael Fassbender. I had no idea he was in 300, but recognised him now as soon as he appeared. A fairly sizable part. Then, randomly on YouTube I was browsing old Guinness adverts this morning (related to mention of Mambo no. 5 from my wife) and again, I'm like, "wait, is that Michael Fassbender in a Guinness advert". Yes, yes it is. Don't remember that at all. Being haunted by Michael Fassbender/ out of 10. |
