The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974) Had a proper weird experience at the cinema last night, I've watched TCM many, many times but never in the theatre. 20 minutes in and I was absolutely hating it and wanted to leave, I felt incredibly uncomfortable, on edge and a bit sick. I was just completely overwhelmed by it and even though I knew exactly when the (very few and very mild) graphic bits were coming, I couldn't watch! I've actually since read a few people mention this about the previous cinema re-release in the early 2000s, the suggestion seems to be that the audio is the real trigger. I guess that's the power of cinema (good and bad!), folks! |
