The look of the thing doesn't really bother me as such. Uglier the better in a sense, hehe. How much would postage be for that?! Although... aren't you in Scotland now?

About 3 years ago I bought an old racing bike (1988 Peugeot) from a car boot sale for 10, stripped all the bits off, replaced the wheels with track wheels (under 100 for a pair) and stuck on a single speed chain (about 8) - Job done for just over 100. I've used it pretty much everyday since and not had a single problem plus it looks like a heap so it's far less likely to get stolen! If you go down this route just make sure that the bike you buy has horizontal rear dropouts.
