Do people actually buy these at 1200 points? It seems like the biggest rip off of anything (non horse armor-y) on the whole store.

Well, they work out at ~£7.50 if you buy your points from Tesco Jersey, so they're not that bad... although you can find this game for a fiver in most shops, if not cheaper.

If they did some of the rarer games I might actually consider it!

OR IF THEY RELEASED DREAMFALL IN EUROPE, FFS

The £7.50 I paid for Ninja Gaiden Black is almost unarguably good value! :-P

I hope they put Silent Hill 2 on Xbox Originals. It is on the backwards compatibility list, but it does not work in the UK. If they add it to Xbox Originals, then I hope they will correct this.

Perhaps they could release it to cash in on the forthcoming Silent Hill Homecoming?

I have the same problem with Black (the EA/Criterion shooter) which I downloaded from it. I can't get past one level as near the end it takes my gun off the screen and thus my ability to kill anything. Splinter Cell Chaos Theory works fine though.

Out of interest, those that have had crashes with originals, have you cleared your HD cache at all?

I've not had any crashes as such, just annoying graphical problems. An example being Halo 2, a reflection of a bridge in a window was then 'burnt' across my field of view for the rest of the session.

Quite good game, just not as good as KotOR...

Looks very nice, too. I also suspect that it runs at a higher res with AA on the 360. Just a pity that the game engine was never optimised so slowdown occurs in some locales.

before i try clearing the cache, what other information is stored there?
also, how do you clear it anyway? =s

    Cache clearing info here.

Stuff like recent updates is stored there. Nothing major, all content downloads are fine, just you'll have that disconnected from Live message pop-up when you change games.

I'm not guaranteeing it will help but if it's something you haven't tried before it's got to be worth it right?

I recently bought a copy of Jade Empire to play again. I previously completed it when it was first released and I enjoyed it more the KotOR. The art style is really beautiful and it still looks very good.

I agree its a great game but the loading times killed me

Y'know I've not tried Black since I recently cleared my cache. I'll give it a shot in the next few days and let people know if it works.

Hmm, I bought Fahrenheit and Phyconaughts from it. Might just have to try Black or Jade Empire when they're released onto the store :D.

Exactly, it seems like it should have been an opportunity to release games like Phantom Dust and Metal Wolf Chaos over here that didn't make it on "regular" Xbox, not a way to whore out games that you can buy in 3 for a tenner deals in Gamestation.

Quick question : how do the originals fare on an Elite over HDMI? Anyone had any problems with display warnings? I am asking specifically about Fable.

I used to run a Pro over VGA but that pretty much kiboshed all back compat usage, hence the upgrade.

I cannot guarantee it but HDMI should be able to display titles that are 50hz only without any problems. I could be wrong but as far as I know VGA always uses 60hz and if a game doesn't support that then you are out of luck with a VGA cable.

Xbox Originals not got much life left in it?

Absolute bugger if true and a foolish decision to say the least.

Anyone got any info on how well XO games have sold in general?

They did the concept wrong from the beginning. Why would someone buy a more expensive digital downloadable version of a game that is stripped of features to save bandwidth when he can buy the better, cheaper boxed version?

They should have put the prices at 4-8 euro, used 1on1 ports and instantly put every game that is BC on the list.

They are right though, BC is overrated and I'd much rather have those people work on something new than making a game BC.

The games I really want are the ones I already have on disc (discs were cheaper) and I simply can't spare that much HD space. Redownloading those huge games when I want to play them for an hour or so is simply not very convenient.

@Xerx3s: stripped of feature how, exactly? Live works on games which support it...

It just seems they haven't had the right idea about how to do it.

    Examples;

Fable.... but the original release, *not* Lost Chapters?
Dreamfall: Longest Journey.... but not available in Europe, the region which created it?
Ninja Gaiden's apparent bollocks-up (which I don't know much about, anyone care to enlighten me?)

Couple that with the poor release schedule (there are more than enough good Xbox games to justify more than one or two a month) and their poor choices (GAUNTLET SEVEN SORROWS?!), I can understand if they're not going to be doing too well, sadly.

Cmon; where's Outrun 2006? Morrowind: GotY? Halo 2 (+ map packs)? Prince of Persia: Sands of Time? Doom 3? Powerdrome? Flatout 2? Super Monkey Ball DX?

Never played GTA: SA... played III and Vice City and of course 4. I have read that the xbox port was terrible. Would anyone like to comment on SA for the xbox? And do you think they will do anything to upgrade the XBLA version?

I stumbled across this site yesterday and it states which games from the previous gen are at the very least 480p. Looks like GTA:SA is 480p so should work via VGA.

    This is a better list:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Xbox_games_compatible_with_Xbox_360

Games that support PAL 60Hz works with the VGA cable.

Some information about the PAL VGA issues here:

Well, slightly enhanced. I've played the Xbox version and I own the PS2 version, Xbox version copes with the city better generally and looks a bit prettier. Also supports custom soundtracks.... if you've somehow transfered them from your Xbox to your 360 hard drive ^___^
