Beautiful in both motion and at a standstill, the Unreal Engine 3 provides eye-popping graphics for Unreal Tournament 3. Not having played Uncharted yet, Id have to say this is the best game, in terms of graphics, to be released on the PS3.

Ok, ok - I copied my HTML from the other post.

I'd accidentally submitted when I wasn't ready, and Eurogamer gave me an error saying 'cant edit post' so I assumed it hadn't published it.

Could someone remove the second one, cheers...

    Anyway.
I ordered this game today - looking forward to it having read that review.

Why did they slap Tournament onto the title?

Unreal was such a cool name on its own.

UE3 supports anti-aliasing on DX10 hardware and the 360. No idea about the PS3 but a lack of video memory possibly rules it out.

Yeah but multiplayer Halo isn't called Halo Tournament and Unreal Tournament 3 does have a single player mode.

Except that US reviews are stating that UT3's single player is really just a training mode for most, for online. It may well have a more fleshed-out story (this aspect I liked the introduction of in UC2, even if it was so-so), but comparing Halo (blech) and UT3 seems a real apples and oranges comparison.

If Chaos UT were available (already, lol) for UT3, it would be more likely I'd get the US version asap, but as-is, I might wait for the PAL one, and see how the modding side progresses, and online support, in the weeks and months before its release.

The big advantage that UTIII had over Halo 3 online is the mod community which means that the game could potentially have hundreds of free maps. I know that UTIII ships with more game modes and maps than Halo 3 but then it doesn't have a single player campaign as such.

Well my order was showing as Pre-Booked and then changed to Processing which triggered an email alerting me to the fact. I presume that if they are processing the order (i.e. charging my credit card) then they have allocated me a copy. Otherwise what are they "processing"? Dunno when you pre-ordered your copy but mine was placed on 22/11/07.

I'll let you know later on what happens to it but I'd imagine it'll change to "Shipped" and appear under my Order History as was the case with my BD pre-orders for 2001 A Space Odyssey and A Few Good Men.

    /fingers crossed

    Quite literally, 30 mins later:

This email is to advise you that:

    Unreal Tournament III (PS3)

is now processing for you and should be dispatched shortly, during peak business periods your order status may not change to shipped for a while, please do not worry things are still on the move Stateside for you. If this order is a UK Next Day title then processing and delivery times will differ.

    Great.

I think they cocked up by putting the release date as the 10th when it was the 14th.

    Yay!

My UT3 order is still showing as processing at MovieTyme!!! How bloody long does this processing actually take?!?

P.S. I ordered a Few Good Men on BD from them on Tuesday and it arrived in this morning's post (from Philadelphia in the US). In the meantime, Gameplay.com sent me a parcel from Basingstoke in the UK second-class last Friday and it has only just arrived today! LOL

Ooh. Thats interesting. Whats the deal then?

I know they're apples and oranges, but UT has a pretty good pedigree. On the PC at least.

I hope its not going to suffer the PS3 curse.

Selling mine, to be honest when I bought this and blacksite I expected Blacksite to be the one I was doubtful about enjoying. Unreal just does not compare to COD 4 IMO.

If anyone here wants to make an offer and can pay by Paypal I'll accept realistic offers.

Ill give ya 27.50 for it hows that?

    Thats a relief. I thought they'd made a dog's dick of it.

If its geared to multiplayer it'll do for me.

I haven't received my copy yet (hopefully it'll arrive before Christmas though) but surely someone who's got the game could post a few impressions about the PS3 version? I've seen a number of videos of the game on GameTrailers and read a few reviews and it comes across as a very solid game but I'd still like to read a few first hand impressions. Anyone?
