Hmm looks like it could be the next CrackCreed if you will. Could be amazing if they pull it off properly.

Ditto, did a write up of this a while back. Looks like it could be quite a contender for sandbox-em-up of 2008.

Let's just hope it doesn't get released anywhere near March :)

Well its a western game int it, by Sierra if I'm not mistaken. I like the helicopter jacking element, but I hope its just to disable them, something like full on flight would have ruined Crackdown. Also the transformation ability seems to add a nice fantastical twinge. Developers have cottened onto the fact that characters with hoods are all the rage these days.

It won't be long before this is the developers' way of choice at this rate. ^^

I assume that was kinda in-game footage. Looks great having buildings as big as the agency tower all over the place. :)

It would be so awesome with agency size towers dotted around, yes sir. I just hope there is a lot of sand box goodness and not just an Ass creed style amazing environment with little to do.

cant remember the mag but there is one with a DVD with loads of stuff on this....and it looks the utter bollocks.

"I wont talk" says captured guy
"You wont need to" says prototype
    "Shhhhhleeeerp!"

Brilliant. Apparently as prototype ypoiu have the army and some weird creatures after you and the controls are dead simple context sensitive or summat. You move the left stick to run and if you run up to a wall and press the right trigger you will climb the wall. if you run up to a row of cars and press the trigger you will leap and run along the car roofs etc...

Looks very promising but i will require a demo b4 I buy.

it was based in a model of New Ypork for that very reason...numbers of skyscrapers etc. I'm not sure but I dont think any other city comes close to the number of tall buildings in a relativley small area?

Boo - interest levels have just been lowered. I like good controls, but if overdone context-sensitive just feels too automatic and idiotfied.

Anyway, I quite like the look of this from the video which went up on EGTV a couple of days ago. To quote my post there, it makes me think of Sylar meets Altair. Only thing is, I'm not sure if I have a great deal of faith in Radical Entertainment - did anyone play their last game, Scarface?

Anyway, if Crackdown 2 were to get released next year then it would be a great year for superhero (or villian) sandbox games - I'm particularly hoping for good things from Infamous, as I really enjoyed the Sly Cooper games.

Nice. Reminds me of the big, mindless violence from Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction.

edit: hah, it's by the same guys :)

must have rad it in a magazine...im sure there was a thread or article on here though....but apparently there will not be a crackdown sequel

Great news it's on all consoles, I was worried the ps3 was getting a decent exclusive for a whole ;)

Oh, I was getting this confused with 'Infamous'.

Bloody hell, they look to be almost the same game!

    new trailer. Looking brilliant.

I really like the idea that the enemy will pursue and try to deploy new weaponry to stop the player, reacting to the way the player's playing the game. They're not going to be intimidated, their specialisation is tackling the threat that the player, and others like him, pose. I also really like the art direction, here. It's realistic, but there are irregular elements inserted into that normality, seeking to be seen as acceptable, as right. Nice themes, direction. Good looking game.
