I wonder if 2009 is going to be the year of the GTA with superpowers type games with loads of bug ridden atrocities being released until Rockstar blows them out the water with DLC for GTA4 that turns Niko Bellic into the Incredible Hulk. "NIKO SMASH" Prototype looks better than Infamous at the moment, though I wonder what kind of content there will be other than the main story. I assume there will side quests, but hopefully they'll fit in with the story. Not just be stupid quests to kill rats in basements, kill 15 enemies and collect 20 flags in a minute. |

Registered 14 years agoLooks great but the big countdown on the official website didn't amount to much. A vid that was on Xplay anyway and some toss DNA helix I can't get my head round. -
OR do you prefer the more EXCLUSIVE hero... hmmmmm? HAHAHAHAHAHA!

Registered 15 years agoThe graphics don't look much better than the original Xbox but the interactivity and the gameplay look tops.
It's like your a super hero in a dead rising mixed with gta4 with some mercenaries and just cause thrown on the top.
Colour me very interested. -
Just looks really dull to me...

Kind of reminds me of the whole Second Sight/Other game I can't recall offhand thingy. To be honest they both look pretty dull to me - the whole "realistic" angle hampers these kind of games quite often - the most fun freeroaming so far were SR2 and Crackdown for my money. -
I'll definitely give the edge to Infamous, just looks more solid and Prototype's nasty streak just doesn't win me over at all, just makes me think of a shit Shadowman. Just neither are particularly inspired in any way.
There's a nice hoodie correlation going on though.

Yeah, I know what you mean. I see enough mutant freaks gliding about the place blowing the shit out of tanks and helicopters every day. It will be boring to play a game about these normal every day occurrences. -
Here's you, Mr K_m;

Conclusion - you have missed the point.
edit 2 - it works! \o/ -
I'm not sold on either, but as far as I'm concerned the Prototype footage makes inFamous look like it needs a hell of a lot of work. -
Both need to look a hell of a lot more finished and fun before I'm interested... -
i'm loving the graphical style of this game.
it's made by the same company that made the hulk open world game isn't it ? hopefully the fact you can morph into other peoples forms will prevent this from suffering the same problem as that game.
it was relentless, it never held up as there was always something coming after you and you couldn't take a second to plan an attack or just take a in the sights etc. -
I think both this and Infamous have their niche. Prototype is all flying Tetsuo destroying neo-Tokyo japes, while Infamous feels a bit more personal, a bit more skills based and gritty. -

Registered 16 years ago10 reasons to buy this game.
It's just a shame, after they did a great job of putting this thing firmly back to the centre of the radar that I can't actually act upon their recommendation, until June! /o\ That's where they went wrong - it's the sort of trailer package aiming to make you drop whatever and go buy the game, but you can't do so. Share my pain on this one, by giving the trailer a glimpse! -

Dunno, looks like a 6 or 7/10 to me. Kind of like Dark Sector. -

Exactly! I'm believe in good things for this game...pure devilish mayhem. -
The video should give you some idea of what to expect. Can't say I was overly impressed but different strokes for different folks. -

That looks great!! -
Another awesome video.
Loved the last two parts of the video, the Hydra fight and the "Please stop the e-mails. I can confirm that you CAN kill zombies with helicopter blades in this game."
