Well the fact that we haven't heard who the shooter is probably means it's not a brown person. I could be wrong but my money is on a Trump supporter angry about the 'libs taking the House' and was just doing his bit.

It will be interesting to see what the motive is this time. Shooting up a country and western night doesn't really fit the usual nutcase profile.

Bit harsh. I mean the self-styled Guvnor was a twat at United. Not sure if he would take things this far.

I read it was a college night or something so probably someone who doesn't like students. Which is fair enough.

Ex-Marine with known mental health issues. Police considered sectioning him (or the US version) earlier this year but didnít. Thatís going to give rise to a lot of questions.

Interesting angle on this one - California had a law on the books already that could have been used to take the shooter's guns away, but police didn't use it.

I wonder why is it that the worst shootings have all happened in the last 25 years, even though America has allowed guns for centuries.

Maybe automatic guns used to be too expensive? It's harder to get into a killing spree when all you have is a revolver or a hunting rifle.

They're just going to have to start sewing Kevlar into the skins of all newborns.

@challenge_hanukkah or they could use newborns themselves as kevlars.

The media has worked out the only thing America likes more than loving itself is hating others

Imagine surviving one mass shooting then being killed in another a year later.

There is a theory that goes something along the lines of the large amount of publicity these shootings get triggering people with certain psychological issues into copycat behaviour.

It is a pretty compelling when one considers 24hrs news and the constant coverage of these atrocities.

Stephen Pinker writes some interesting stuff about the American psychology in his book The Better Angels of Our Nature, America is a bit of an outlier in regards of progress and faith in the law to solve problems and there is much more propensity to solve a slight with violence. It is well worth reading his stuff on this subject.

As someone who watches too many "road rage" clips on YouTube, it's interesting to note how road rage tends to manifest itself in Europe / UK compared to the Russian and American vids where there's an over representation of fisticuffs and weapons rather than honks, swearing and gestures.
