It'll catch on with hipsters in no time. They'll never been seen without their A4 ream. Plus he really owns the mistake. No attempts to nip it off camera, just him and his paper like a boss.

It's about time someone banned those somewhere. They're just plain creepy. Let them get to 16 and let them look like a lady of the night on their own. Why would a parent even want to let their child do that? Or worse, push them into it? I've never liked them. Just weird.

    Obligatory South park clip.

I'd like to see her reaction if she was told they were fake notes.

Whilst I agree with fining those who are spitting on the pavement, I do not see a problem with spitting in the gutter. However, if people have a mucus problem they should carry around a pack of disposable hankies to flob into and then dispose in the bins provided by the council. (Although bins in most areas I have lived in have been as rare as the beast of Bodmin)

EA exec attacks Nintendo’s Miyamoto, calls Steve Jobs ‘a dead guy from Cupertino’

    The insults aren't even the worst part;

"Hilleman then followed up the rudest comment we’ve ever heard from an exec with the most depressing, as he implied that video games up till now have required too much skill and effort to play."

‘We’ve asked for too much time, too much skill, and too much money, sometimes all at once,” he said. ‘Customers today… are generally looking for a single fabric of play. They want their game where they want it, when they want it, and at a price they can defend to other people.’
Wasn't Richard Hilleman the serial killer from Corrie?

Mysterious 'ugly woman' painting baffles Winchester couple.
A couple have been left "mystified" after an oil painting of an "ugly" woman in a white headscarf was sent to them in the post with no explanation.

Russia bans adoptions to Sweden in order to stop Russian children from ending up in homosexual families. They'd rather Russian children rot in shitty orphanages.

Incidentally, I have read reports that many Russian orphanages face the following problems: corruption, prostitution, child abuse, drug abuse, delinquency and violence. I'll post the sources in question if I find them.

This sort of bureaucratic idiocy coupled with wanton cruelty makes my fucking blood boil. Seems my country is going to shit. Glad I don't have to live there.

Andrew Mitchell probably didn't use the word on that occasion but did/does use the word "pleb" in private.

    Officially dead, unofficially alive..

DOHA: After a Qatari man’s ATM cards were suddenly inactivated, he went to his bank to enquire what was wrong and got the shock of his life when he was told that in their records he was dead.

The man laughed it out, thinking it was some joke and asked the bank employee to activate his cards. “I am not dead. I am alive. I am in front of you,” said the man, smiling.

But his smile disappeared when the employee insisted with all seriousness that he was dead as far as the bank was concerned.

“You need to go to the state authorities to prove that you are alive. Our records show you are dead so we can’t help you. You can’t withdraw any cash,” said the employee.

    Another shock awaited the Qatari.

He discovered to his horror later that he needed to first collect his death certificate and then approach public health authorities to get his official records corrected that would show him alive.

He went to the Supreme Council of Health and was instead asked to approach the Public Prosecution. However, after making several rounds of the prosecution’s office when he continued to still walk as a dead man, he felt frustrated.

He hired a lawyer to complete the necessary formalities so he could be a living man again, reports Al Sharq.

The lawyer told the daily this was the first case of its kind he had heard of.

He said there could have been a wrong data entry. “I don’t suspect any foul play. Some error might have occurred in data entry,” said the lawyer.

    Something rather more serious:

Africa loses $50bn annually due to illicit financial outflows, AU says

Africa loses nearly one billion dollars every week through illicit financial flows out of the continent, and chiefly through transactions by multinational companies, an AU agency has said on Friday.

The New Partnership for Africa’s Development (NEPAD), an AU policy wing, said in a statement that the world’s poorest region lost 900 billion dollars in the illegal financial flows between 1970 and 2008.

Commercial transactions by multinationals accounted for 60 per cent of the unlawful flows, followed by criminal activities such as trade in drugs, weapons and people at 35 per cent.

Bribery and embezzlement made up five per cent.

Channels for the illegal flows were trade mispricing, investment-related transactions and offshore tax havens, a report commissioned by NEPAD and the UN’s Economic Commission for Africa said.
