I am looking to buy into HMV's 3 for 2 Blu-Ray offer, but I am uncertain if it will arrive for Christmas, it'll be a present.

Has anyone here bought anything from HMV online before?
Just looking for some feedback really, thanks.

They are not the best, especially at Christmas though I've always received the item. I was waiting on a couple of dvds that finally arrived today from them, took longer than expected and they apologised in an email earlier in the week to say it's on the way. It was a popular item so maybe that had something to do with it. It's a chance at this stage I would say. Up to you. You could always return it later and buy from some where else if it's not making the time. Deal in store as well perhaps ?

I've attempted to order many things from HMV before, be it games, DVDs or CDs. After weeks of waiting for them to arrive, I've always ended up just canceling & going elsewhere.

So I'd say your chances are pretty damn slim.

I've ordered Ross Noble's latest DVD from them but it has been under the 'Your order is now available and is awaiting shipment' category for 3 days now. Come on, send me my DVD now!

HMV have been unreliable at best for the last couple of years since just before they relocated to the channel islands. I wouldn't order anything from there that you need quickly or much else at all unless it's a real bargain and you can wait.

Alright, thanks for the replies then.

I'll probably just buy one Blu-Ray in-store (even though most are over 20)

I tried ordering some CD's from them stopped the order when I realised that special delivery was 30 for a few cd's un-fucking-belivable

I think Play, Amazon and Zavvi still have the same 3 for 2 offer on. All have better delivery times.

Anything changed in terms of their delivery times? They've got some decent prices online, not worth bothering with if the delivery will be unreliable though.

Delivery is normally 3-5 days after dispatch. I've never had a problem with anything going missing with them, they seem reliable, but just a bit slow sometimes.

Bought a whole load of their cheap hd dvd's last week. Delivery time was excellent, ordered Thurday evening, came Saturday morning (well 4 out of 6 of them).

And what happened to the other two? :)

3-5 days is fine though, as long as they actually stick to that.

No idea.. hopefully they turn up today, our post still hasn't been this morning. It's not unusual for multiple orders from shops like Amazon or Play to come through on different days up here in Back o' Beyond. I definitely don't think it's HMV's fault at the moment.

Bought a couple 24 seasons from them a few weeks ago, they turned up pretty quick.. coming from Jersey so comparable to Play.

If the items are listed as in stock then they are normally sent within a day or two and will take 2-5 days to arrive. They'll all be shipped individually and are coming from Guernsey. Anything listed as 'back in stock in' will beordered from the suppliers and will sent when they get it in stock.

Ordered something from them which was dispatched on the 16th and yet no sign of it.

Surprising..as Play normally get things to Ireland within 3/4 working days.

Anyone have any experience with HMV's delivery service?
