I don't know what that is but very cool, absolutely loved it. Pretty sure it should hold up today too.

There's so many different endings to this. My mind is still blown at how they did it. Can't think of any other games that have done it as well... perhaps recently Detroit Become Human.

Also can finally play the strip club scene without my mum bursting into my bedroom and shunning me.

Iím amazed they managed to sort the rights. Itís been available unofficially for ages, but most attempts to sell it again were shot down by legal red tape. It was considered harder to sort out than even Goldeneye.

ScummVM also includes a lot of stuff that was cut out of the original, there were some long scenes with Sean Young as Rachel that never appeared in the game.

I have to admit, I don't remember playing it back in 2007 when I made the thread. I probably did.

Might play it again now. :)

They should do a 2049 game in the same style.

In my top 5 if not top 3 games ever.

I was completely absorbed in this when it came out, could think of nothing else while in school.

Works a treat on my 2011 MacBook! Crazy to think that it was a right pain in the arse to to work over 10 years ago the last time I played it.

How did I not know this was available, bought for 7 of my (more worthless by the day) pounds.

It will never look like I remember, will it?

Voxels. It was when MMX on the Pentium 2 was all the rage. Same with Outcast.

    Really? It used voxels?

Always stuck me as a rally stupid tech that. It looked awful and it needed so much proceeding power.

Very few games used it overall.

It ran ok on my PC back in the day and mine would have been a piece of shit because I was poor.

Westwood was big into voxels in the late 90s. Pretty sure both Red Alert 2 and Tiberian Sun used them.

Depending on how much of a weird nerd you are you could probably argue they werenít voxels but pixel slices, but thatís dork talk for losers.

Voxels were quite cool for landscapes when polygons were in shorter supply. Outcast was looked very nice at the time of release as an example. I seem to recall some odd way in the way they worked that meant having more of them was supposed to be faster than less of them.

These days of course we can get nice enough landscapes with polygons.

Wow, I didn't realise this was available on GOG, is it worth trying to get my original discs to work with Scumm (bearing in mind my PC doesn't have an installed Dvd drive, though I do have one) or shall I just get it from GOG?

The GOG version is using ScummVM to run the game.

Its still a bit of a hassle to get it working in ScummVM even with the discs (need to copy all the poorly named files off) so might as well buy a working maintained copy for peanuts.

Yeah, that's what I thought. Plus I also have the added hassle of opening my case, just to plug in my Sata drive to install it.

That's worth 6 quid of my time alone.

I have a vague memory of using a CPU limiter or something because the game ran too fast to do shooting sections or something.
