Anyone seen any updates on a release date for this? Also, how are the beta players getting on? |

Zomg - just read the EG interview with Cyanide saying that they would like to work on other GW 'forgotten' IP including Necromunda! THIS MUST HAPPEN. -

Registered 13 years agoI would buy and play a good Necromunda game in a heartbeat
that was the only GW game that ever got its hooks into me -
Necromunda was my first Games Workshop experience.
Went on to Blood Bowl, 40K, Fantasy and Battlefleet after.
Back when i was a penniless child. -

My experience with the beta is that it would be a lot of fun, if I knew what I was supposed to be doing.
I think releasing a beta of a complicated game and disabling the tutorial and the manual was a bit dumb, but I guess the beta was aimed at people that play the tabletop game and already know how to play, and not new players like me.
Although I eventually figured out the basics, most of my games were just me getting thrashed by more experienced players, which wasn't very fun.
Still, I got the feeling that if I learned how to play properly it would be very enjoyable, so I'm still looking forward to the release. -
@Zachm
Glad your not put off by the lack of info.
Once you know all the rules and start making your own strategies this game really dose reward you. At least if its anything like the board game (which from what little I have read about from peoples views so far) it will. -

Pricing just been announced for PC download. £39.99

This has certainly changed a bit from it's original XBLA idea. -

Bloody Hell! For download? What is this madness?
I'm assuming there can't be an XBLA version then, unless it is going to cost thousands of MS points? -

Registered 14 years agoIt was never planned as an XBLA download, always as a full boxed game.. -

Registered 15 years agoBah, why did they even bother making the realtime version? Waste of resources... they should have just made the turn-based one and made it half the price.
Perhaps only those of us who remember it fondly would have bought it, though, and they need the realtime one for all these ADHD people that play games nowadays.

My mistake, I became confused by all the Live / XBLA chatter on page 3. -

Registered 14 years agoYeah, a lot of people (including members of the media) thought and reported that it would be XBLA game. Still, it was meant to be released last October, and then only delayed to miss the Xmas rush. I don't really have faith that the game will be great, hopefully just true enough to the original to play online games with friends. -

Greedy bastards, that's a ridiculous price for a PC game
Maybe each copy of the game comes with a Games Workshop Blood Bowl player in a blister pack. Judging by the price of most GW stuff now, they probably cost about £30, which would make the game a bargainous £9.99! -
Damn it!
I was hoping to see a release date for the 360.

Registered 11 years agoThat pricing is horrific. I hope their initial sales are abysmal and they re-think pretty sharpish. I've been looking forward to this for ages but I'm not paying that!
Also, I've looked at a few of the usual online suspects and there appears to be absolutely no hint of a retail boxed version. Is this going to be download only? -

No demo and £40 can fuck off. I really want to make a Skaven or Undead team aswell.

The price and the lack of a demo, or at least some decent info on the game, is hardly reassuring.
It isn't exactly the glorious return to the sport that my childhood self had hoped for, but who knows, perhaps the game is amazing, and £40 is half of what I'll feel it is worth paying for it.

Registered 14 years agoSkaven are indeed there and I want to make a team. I can't because £40 is just asking a bit too much for what it is. Boxed copies are also planned but thats in September, same for the Steam version apparently. I hope to God its cheaper by then. -
Beh. Think I'll stick to Chaos League for now. -

Registered 10 years agoit's 49.99 yoyos, which does seem a bit steep for a pc game.
Cyanide is a french developer afaik, and GW aren't shy of charging through the nose either so they're possibly just not using archaic conversion rates which favour the pound(I don't know what the conversion rate is atm, but I do know it's long been practice for games to charge more in yoyo's than what the conversion rate would suggest they should.)
Or they're charging 49.99 dollars and just being lazy on conversion rates in other countries...
Still, doesn't instill confidence to be releasing the game for download before the disc release. Feels like being asked to pay to beta test, so I'll probably wait until the box is out...
Edit: reading the forums, the game is physically out now too. Just not in english(UK/US) until september. Why? I have no idea. -

Did anyone buy this in the end?
I've found keys going for 15 punds!!
I'm in, at that price. -
Have to wait untill the 360 version is out which sucks as its been a long wait. -

If you were to get one of those keys would you be able to get the game from the devs site or would it have to be torrented?
