I was wondering.
How do you people eat your curry's?
I notice you white mix all your curry into rice and then dip your naan/bread into the mixture.
I find that quite odd as I've always eaten the curry with the naan/bread and then mixed the rice in with the curry once I'm done with the rice.
That's how it's supposed to be done by the way
Naan bread ftl. -

Registered 20 years agoIf Naans are in the offing, use the naan to scoop up the curry. Cutlery ftl - that's why they give you hot lemon towels at the end. If someone's not eaten all their rice I may nick a little to polish off any left-over sauce.
If I'm eating home made, and I haven't bought any naans I'll have rice and eat a bit of rice with a bit of curry on every forkful, but not mix them on the plate. I'll mix towards the end though, just to make sure I don't end up with any left over rice or left over curry. -

Registered 20 years agoI never used to eat naan - it's just bloats, but I've started to eat them because I seem to like them now, but generally I'm a chapatti man...don't do rice at all. Unless it's a dessert.
What screws me is some restaurants where they don't cook chapatti's enough - or naans. They should bubble up on the tuvar (frying pan thing to cook them on). One place I go to they see me coming and take the chappatti's round back and re-cook them to perfection, otherwise they would be that nasty grey undercooked flour look. Either that or they're going to spit on it "look here come's the moaner....I teach him a lesson. Cuss my chappatti's will ya. Karktook!" -

Registered 13 years agoI just nip down the road to buy fresh naans from the takeaway when I make curry at home, otherwise I don't generally eat much rice unless I'm having a thali, I just get a naan and scoop it up.

Registered 16 years agoWhat is the point in a starter in a bog standard curry house? Its just the same shit you get with a main but without the gravy. -

I tend to order a really spicy starter because I like a bit of heat, but a main dish that's burning my taste buds off is a bit much. -

You are not doing it right! A whole range of kebabs, purees (puris?) and tandoori fish awaits the discerning diner. Mmm tandoori fish. -
Christ! Some of you eat scary amounts. Why 2 portions of curry? Is 1 not enough you fat shits?

Registered 16 years agoI eat too much curry, had two last week and judging by my intake over the last couple of years, that was a quiet week for me
They aren't small either. Main, rice, keema naan and usually two helpings of bombay potatoes and a load of popadoms
Might get one tonight now

Yeah, hence the disclaimer. Even in a moderately upmarket one, something like tandoori fish still seems pointless as its flavoured in more or less the same way as the main dish. -

Registered 18 years agoRarely indulge in starters. For mains, I flit between balti, madras, jalfrezi, with the occassional vindaloo. Quite like a biriyani from time to time too. Thrown in the odd naan and poppadoms, and you're golden. -

Swordfish shashlik is one of my favourites - I get a good curry round these parts too .gif)
Not had curried lobster before DB, any good? Sounds ace! -
