    Its fucked.

I switched on and signed in (according to the bottom of the dash) earlier only for it not to recognise I was online.

Theres some weird shit going down.

I tried running Metal Slug 3, and it immediately signed off when I started the game. I want to play online damnit.

Seems to be up again for me now.

What I've found really helps, and maybe it will help you too, is that whenever it happens, be it every ten minutes or just once a day, come on here and start a new thread about it to rally support. I don;t think one clearly named, well populated thread will do the trick, and I'm glad to see that others agree with me.

Before it seemed to only be fucked at peak time, but now it seems to be down intermittently all through the day. Tried TF2 yesterday tea-time and I couldn't get into any games at all, then quit to the dashboard to see if anything worthy was up for download and was blessed with the sight of none of the blades loading up, ie, the exact same peak time problems MS stated were sorted.

Fuck the game, for godsake just get it sorted MS.

That blades thing has been driving me insane. At least I can still play online when it happens though. I wonder if blades are included in the subscription charge. :(

I suppose you'll truly find out later though. I'll probably be on TF2 later, and I'm fully expecting it to go tits up again at around the 10-11pm mark.

It was stupidly slow downloading an arcade trail earlier on but the blades and marketplace has been fine since the total collapse last week. Small mercies :/

to be honest i've not had that much of a problem with live. there was a hiccup with sending a game invite but thats it.

I thin it's only the DL speed suffering atm. The multiplayer side seems to be fine judging from the EG gears games a couple of weeks ago.

CoD4 has been totally FUBAR regardless of the problems though. The patch would be nice sooner rather than later.

Maybe while MS are adding to their server network they can chuck a couple EGs way? ;)

Like I said though, it was fucked up just the same as perviously for me yesterday as well. I've not tried CoD4 for a few days though, so I've no idea whether that's still playing up.

It was still playing up a couple of days ago and well ever since launch really as much as I can gather. They definitely need to sort this out.

This whole Live thing is really fucked up. Live is supposed to be the xbox's ace in teh pack and yet its just sooo mseed up at the mo.

I hope microsoft dish us out 1000 points each or something coz its just bollocks.

Ever since launch? I've had no problem with it until last month. Obviously there were the occasional 'down for maintenence' periods, but on the whole it's been very reliable and largely problem free, until recently of course.

Was working fine at peak time last night though. Remains to be seen whether they have sorted it though, as the problem just seems to be more inconsistent than before.

I have the permanently rotating discs once I try to sign in but I find that switching to the media blade and playing the game from there signs me in properly. It's as if the Live adserver isn't serving ads properly causing everything to grind to a halt.

Maybe they're using 360's to serve Live and they're all ringing?
    ;)

Doesn't Sony use a bunch of PS3s to serve PSN?

Was a bit dodgy on TF2 this lunchtime. Kept throwing me out of games for no reason right after joining. Similar to the CoD4 peak time prob, so could possibly be related. Didn't check the dashboard blades at the time though.

i think that PSN has similar problems with third party games too. the only problems i read about with XBL are with third party games, which use their own servers.

Touch wood... been ok for me the last couple of nights. Had a cracking few games on SWOS followed by a few hours of racing in Forza 2 tonight.
