ABBA are the ultimate pop musicians. Unlike some other overrated dead celebrities one could mention.

Registered 20 years agoI forget who said it, twas one of the many coke fueled music journalists, but ehy got something right for once: ABBA either represent everything you love about life or everything you hate about it. Definitely the latter for me.
Guilty pleasures? A very quick sift through my iTunes: Dire Straits, Shed 7, Crowded House, a ickle bit of Elton John and couple of Kooks and Razorlight tracks. -

Registered 13 years agoThat's silly, ABBA doesn't represent anything to me but good music -

Registered 13 years agoI watched Mamma Mia for the first time in the cinema tent at Glastonbury last month and it was wonderful. there were at least 600 people in there, and most of them sang along to all the songs, and cheered and booed people. it was akin to seeing The Rocky Horror Picture Show again. At the end, they all got up and danced together. It was absolutely fun. But I will probably never watch it on my own at home. I would be less ashamed of seeing Animal Farm again.
I might have to go to a warehouse dubstep / bashment party at the weekend to atone for this sin of enjoyment. Because music isn't meant to make you smile and feel good, is it? that's what drugs are for.
I have a copy of the 4 CD ABBA Gold album from my teens. It lives in the special drawer next to my bed with all the other illicit things that I don't want anyone else to know about. -
Why would you be ashamed of Animal Farm? Unless we're not thinking of the same Animal Farm... -

Registered 12 years agoABBA's "The Day Before you Came" is one of the saddest songs ever written.
A world in which ABBA (!!) are a 'guilty pleasure' is a world gone madly wrong. Kill yourself.
Elton John (depending on what era we're talking about) is hardly a 'guilty pleasure' either. Madman Across the Water is an amazing album. -
Sounds like something Arnold Rimmer would say. -

Enquiring minds demand to know what else is in 'the special drawer'. -
No one's mention Lady GaGa yet?
If you don't like her you're a big gayer! -
