Try Aperture prefs, or Image Capture prefs.

Launch Image Capture with the iPhone connected and there you have it in the lower left corner of the window.

cheers chaps and wow.. I'm inferring from that that it's a Aperture / iPhoto setting and not a system type setting ala Windows Autoplay?

    If that's true then FTML

Why won't this work on Safari or Chrome even if I have Flip4Mac installed?

Its probably badly coded and flip4mac doesnt recognise it as a proper stream. It doesnt work on any of the 4 browsers.

Talksports player used to do the same thing. The only way round it was getting the specific URL of the stream and pasting into WMP for mac.

What is the best programme for copying just the show content off a DVD? I have Ripit which is great but this just makes an identical copy of the DVD at about 4.5 gb each and I have about 30 disks I want to copy.

I'm gonna hazzard a guess and go with...Handbrake! (not sure though).

Handbrake indeed. Unless you want another mastered DVD, in which case DVD2One is probably your best bet (a bit pricey though).

Edit: Handbrake it is, then. Probably the best piece of software ever written. Note it's all open-source codecs and whatnot.

So ... er wow... another mind boggingly simple question :)

Can I get Cmd+Tab to behave like Alt+Tab?
i.e. when I Cmd+Tab to something the window actually pops up if it's already been minimized

I've found a couple of 'workarounds' (Cmd+Tab to the app then F10 through the apps windows)

Oh.. and I keep double clicking the title bar of apps to maximize it but it does the opposite hehe....

I almost posted that it's impossible. Except it isn't!

Hold down cmd. Press tab until you get to your desired application. Hold down alt. Let go of cmd and after that let go of alt.

Fucks sake. First disk I want to burn in about 10 years and it my MBP is refusing to do it. Keeps coming up with: "The disc can’t be burned, because the device failed to calibrate the laser power level for this media."

It's a brand new box of blank DVDs, I'm not about to buy another just because the computer is feeling too precious about them.

    >:( Ruined my plans to clear out the junk from my computer today.

Yes, almost 100% bad DVDs. The crap they sell in shops is astounding.
  • Deleted user 30 July 2010 11:56:54
    Ah, :(

IT's been so long since I have bought DVDRs that I thought there would be a certain minimum of quality or something. Oh well. Back to backing up with HDD it is then.

Just buy DVDs from tdk or verbatim or some other known brand and you should be fine.

This morning on turning starting up my iMac I got the following messages:

"i Your computer's clock is set to a date before Jan 1 2008. This may cause some applications to behave erratically.

    To set the clock manually...."(etc)

    and

"! Do you want the application "mDNSResponder" to accept incoming network connections?
Clicking Deny may limit the application's behavior..." (etc)

I don't know why I'm getting them, the clock was fine yesterday and when it comes to network things, they just confuse me.

    Should I be worried?

Your firewall has probably got its knickers in a twist and if your time and date is set to follow apples servers, its probably forgotten what time it is. Check to see if anything has been accidentally added to the firewall.

If it continues delete the firewall prefs (Library/Preferences/com.apple.alf.plist) and restart your computer.
