I get Box Office for free, so watched it this morning.

The best fight was the first super bantom weight.

Everything after that was pretty poor including the Saunders fight.

I know it's fun to play up to the cliche of not understanding the Youtuber celebrity culture but really the whole thing was a circus. The "celebs" they interviewed were pretty much all cunts and the audience was awash with privileged kids with rapper grills and suits without shirts.

The fight was as you would expect, slightly above the kind of thing you'll see at a white collar event.

Johnny Nelson wasn't sure how to respond when they asked a dog with over a million followers to bark his prediction for the fight.

In short you missed nothing and a lot of money was made.

Yeah probably. I think AJ has a suspect chin and it will get punished again.

I said at the time that AJ needed to shed a shitload of muscle to be in with a chance which he seems to have done. Bit of an unknown with him coming in so much lighter but if he's noticeably faster and snappier I'd probably fancy him.

Think he'll need to finish it early though, as he will get caught again.

Howís Ruiz looking, has he shed any of the weight he carried into the last one? Totally forgot about this until I walked into the pub and saw a sign, might drop in to watch as long as it doesnít start at stupid o clock

Yeah just checked, 9pm scheduled which probably means 10. Undercard isnít too bad, Whyte and Povetkin both fighting

Ringwalk is 20:45, but Whyte on undercard will be worth a look.

I fancy a trimmer, more agile, more cagey Joshua to use his reach to grab a points victory. But it wouldnít be a shock to see Ruiz drop him again. Weíll see 🤷‍♂️

Iím not convinced Joshua can do a cagey points victory, I donít think heís got a very good boxing brain. Ruiz is a class act, the only advantage Joshua has in any fight is using his considerable size advantage imo

I dunno, he clearly is capable of grinding out a win (see Joshua Parker). I don't think his chin is any more susceptible than anyone else in the division, it's not easy to take a heavyweight punch. I think he'll be taking Ruiz far more seriously this time, so I'm expecting a boring fight with Joshua trying to keep Ruiz on the outside the whole time, if he's sensible.

Yeah I donít think Joshuaís that chinny. I think maybe heís just powered to wins without much need for a defence so when he tries to mix it up and gets caught, he takes flusher shots.

Look at any good heavyweight and thereís often a knockout loss in there somewhere. Its the nature of the division where anyone has a puncherís chance.

I remember him being Bambi legged with Whyte, and he certainly doesnít have a granite chin. But I donít think itís awful either. One loss in the pros and I think his amateur losses were points or standing counts?

Ruiz, good fight to put a bet on as well given ruiz Is still being pegged as the underdog.

Ruiz is far too boxing smart for josh

Be interesting. Not being super jacked is the right approach but AJ trying to win by points gives Ruiz more opportunity to get a KO.

Also there's been very little noise from Joshua's camp or from Joshua.

He gave up in the last fight. He was beaten and refused to put his mouth guard in. That's a very difficult place to come back from.

I think the first knock down just completely ruined him and he couldn't recover.
Apparently he's been doing much more sparring in camp this time round and with proper pros as opposed to amateurs, which was a criticism of previous regimes.

    I think it's a true 50/50 fight personally.

I have a horrible feeling this will be a boring fight; AJ is focused mostly on winning his belts back, no mention of knockouts or revenge. I predict AJ just boxes at range for 12 rounds; Ruiz doesn't have the foot speed to close the distance and utilise his faster hands and better inside work.

Just donít believe Joshua has the talent to change his formula so easily, 6 months of weight loss and heavy sparring isnít enough to change a fighter whoís career to date has been based on being bigger and stronger than everyone else

I think this. Joshua's problem is he's got no top tier ring craft. He's straight in and out, rarely side to side, amature league movement.

Also doesn't have any head movement, which along with his powerful but lacklustre choppy punching, makes him vulnerable to a snappy counter hook, which Ruiz has.

He's never going to grind out a victory unless he gets behind his jab and stays there, which is what he should have done in the first fight. He doesn't have the fight IQ or the tools to do anything else. Super boring.

AJ is a phenomenal athlete, but he's not a good enough boxer to hang at the top level. The bookies are predicting a fairly convincing win for Ruiz. AJ to win is currently 5/11.

And whilst the bookies are rarely wrong, don't forget that the odds merely reflect the amount of cash being wagered

Think people are doing AJ a bit of a disservice, he's a good boxer. The amount of excess muscle he's had has been a problem for a while now. He should be a fair bit quicker and have a lot better cardio this time around. He actually looks like a boxer instead of a body builder. I'm pretty interested to see how it goes.
