    Check it out! Robot Spider!

It's spooky the way it sort of stretches and flexes to work out how it can move before it sets off...

The stretching and the way it rises the forelegs are indeed a bit scary. Thankfully it apparently walks with the approximate speed of 30 cm per second so outrunning such a robot spider should not be a problem. ;-)

Although, if they taught it to jump...

Spider robot, spider robot, does a small portion of what a spider can.

Now scale it up 500 times and give it lasers for eyes.

    Oooooh.

BigDog is pretty cool. They move it up/down hills, snow, ice, rocks, piles of bricks and try to kick it over. It's a bit freaky the way its legs move... sorta like a deer.

My advice is to kill it now, before it discovers how to replicate.

Wow that big dog is amazing, especially when it slips on ice, I can't believe there's not a real dog in there.

In a situation like this there's only one thing to do... put them in a room and a FIGHT TO THE DEATH.

    Someone got bored.

The Director of the Future Robotics Technology Center in Chiba, Japan has designed (and is planning to build) a Gundam suit using available technology.

    Full details (in Japanese).

The wars of the future will not be fought on the battlefield or at sea. They will be fought in space, or possibly on top of a very tall mountain. In either case, most of the actual fighting will be done by small robots. And as you go forth today remember always your duty is clear: To build and maintain those robots.

    "Robots - Our Future Masters"

I think that the term you are looking for isn't robot as a robot is a stupid object that only does what it is told to do. It is no more self aware than a brick.
If robots would be our masters then it wouldn't actually be them who would rule us but the entities that control the robots.

    Hexapod.

It's a spiderbot (yeah, I know it's only got 6-legs) with facial recognition tech built in. Moves in a remarkably lifelike way...
