    - as in, I can't stay in bed and sleep late at the weekends. What the hell. I was up at 6.30 this morning. Stupid bodyclock! I must just be so used to gettimg up early for work. >:(

    Anyone else?

In a way I suppose I don't mind, sleep is wasted time anyway, but still it would be nice to be able to have a good long sleep

Yeah, im up at 7:30 without fail :( Its kinda good cause I get time to clean up my flat and mess around online before I need to go out and do stuff on the weekend but it annoys my other half no end since she can sleep in for hours but I wake up and have to get up.

Same here, I've just woken up, and I'm torn between just faffing with some work I didn't get done last week, stuff for next week, stuff I'm meant to work on this weekend, Warcraft, Bioshock or just going for a walk...

I've been up since 7am doing laundry and cleaning the house. I haven't been one for sleeping in for a few years now, unless I'm really exhausted.

I used to be able to stay in bed until late afternoon (I think 5pm is my record) whilst at university.

Nowadays, it's rare for me to not be up at 7am - even earlier on a weekday.

I lost the ability to lie in... let's see... on about June 26 2003... when our son was born.

/ Has been awake since four-year-old boy jumped on top of him at 6:08 this morning.

Also awake at 7am on Sats without fail at the moment - have no problem lying in during the week!

I think my problem lies with Sat morning being the first chance I usually get to watch new episodes of Lost...

    Yep. My life is above.
I am thinking that when kids are 5, they can "sort themselves out" downstairs. My girl is 4 1/2, and my little boy is nearly 2. I am officially "counting down" to when lie ins, and playing video games during the day, re-enter my life. I can assure you there will be champagne on that day!

Yeah I am exactly the same, a lie in now consists of waking up at 8am at the weekend. How I want those days back where I could sleep till 5pm.

    Its all psychological.

During the week I wake up at 6am all warm with a fuzzy head and think ahh shit gotta go to work etc wish I could have a lie in/ can i get away with a sickie etc.

Me and teh Mrs are so grumpy and programmed during the week that in the morning we communicate via various grunts and wardrobe door slamming.

Some times I drive to work and dont remember the journey in, must be on morning autopilot or something.

Yet the wknd comes and i'm awake at 7am feeling fresh and breezing round the house like friggin doris day.

I have an ability to sleep for about 7-8 hours and then i'm sure something in my head goes "ping" inside that wakes me up...

Lied in until 10, but didn't sleep until 1, so that made up for it.

I'll need those extra sleep hours ready for tonight :)

    I'm completely phucked.

I've got this problem too. I'mve been up since 7 this morning and I went to bed at 5aM! I'm still drunk. I'm really tied but I can not sleep. And to top it offf I've got a hangover. How is this possible. I want to die.

When I was four, I was definitely NOT up at 6:08 in the morning. You need to improve your parenting skills, then return to this thread :p

For me, I always wake up really tired, but desperately needing a piss at around 7am on every day. So at the weekend, I go for a piss, then come back to the bedroom, flop on the bed and fall back asleep. So, I do get up early, technically.

Razz, we know you have a cavalier attitude to the opposite sex, but this is no way to treat a lady - she has given you her most precious gift, and now just wants a stroll around the area, maybe a coffee and a croissant while perusing the Sunday papers, and this is the way you treat her?

    Shame on you.

/is ashamed to be a man.

i'm one of those people that needs ALOT of sleep, i'm 22 now and i don't think my body clock has ever EVER been at the stage where i'd wake up without the use of 1-4 alarm clocks. (its getting harder to wake up as i get older)

    you don't believe me?

    tough. its true.

I lost that ability once my first child was born. Ever since, lie ins become a tradable comodity with the missus.

When you havea 3 year waking u up at 5am and then the 1 yr old stirringat that time, there is no choice.

If Im honest though its usually the missus that gets up but then I work shitloads of hours which I getpaid for which pays for the house and stuff.....

We have an agreement however that I get a lie in til 9am on Saturday but at the weekends my body tends to tell meto slow down and a wave of tiredness will come out of the blue and knock me into an afternoon nap.

I guess this is what they were on about when I was told not to fight the aging process in my 30s....!!

Meh, sleeping in sucks. The only time I do it is when I'm too hung over to be able to do anything else and even then a lot of the time I'll force myself out of bed and outside for a jog or a bike ride to properly shake out the hangover.

I used to lie in a lot when I was at Uni but since I've had a regular job I've found I generally get up quite early at the weekends, which I like because I can actually get stuff done. Seems a waste of a weekend to spend half of it sleeping.
