OoT and TP are the worst Zelda games.

I think we should play as either Zelda or Sheik.

Stephen Totilo of MTV Multiplayer had an interesting piece on this very question recently. His point, essentially, was that they should stop trying to best OOT and just accept that that is the pinnacle of the series. Instead they should just remake it.
Twilight Princess was as close as I would like to see a remake of Ocarina of Time to be.

A proper remake would be a waste of time and resources. I have no doubt that Nintendo are not lacking fresh ideas for the franchise but I'm too short-sighted to see what the "next big idea" could be.

I shall however wait with baited breath. Perhaps this year's E3 might be the platform to show the next direction :o)

Personally, the Zelda series has given me the most enjoyable moments of my gaming life. At the time, LttP was a truly immense game, which I played for 18 hours a day for three days to complete. I did the same with OoT, just this time I was blown away by the graphics as well.

Although I completed TP on a friends Cube, I've yet to go through the Wii version that I have as I didn't really get into the game like I had with previous installments. I found the dungeons far too easy, the bosses easy, especially Ganondorf at the end, I hardly lost any health defeating him. The bits between the dungeons also dragged on a bit to much for my liking.

The question posted by the OP is a good one, I think the next revision of Zelda should be a true MMORPG. Ninty are the only ones surely, who could challenge WoW.

Voice acting in Zelda would be horrible. I wish more games would go back to using text, actually.

true. They'll stick some shitty teenage american accent on Link. I hate American accents, not one sounds nice. Perhaps this is what happens after listening to their rants on LIVE for 2 years.

Hilarious thing happened last night when a yank couldn't understand my northern English mate's accent. "Speak English!" he whined. TeH Ironiez

They should set it in the future. Instead of Epona a Hover Bike. Intead of Navi, Cursor. Instead of the Master Sword, teh m4st3r sw0rd.

I remember saying this in another thread, but doesn't anyone remember the April Fools joke from last year, where someone produced a load of concept art for a futuristic Zelda, including Epona now being a motorbike, etc. /goes to find

    Yep, almost exactly a year.

Most of the art in that is taken from Star Wars and Final Fantasy.

My brother ordered me a copy for Christmas, not realising the release date. Got it on Monday and it is lovely.

Great quality book packed with stuff. A lot of the concept art etc is from the recent games, but there's something from each game and there's also the timeline, history of the series and some Zelda manga in the back.

Heartily recommended for any Zelda fan.
