Ah, I love EG's annual spider threads.
IIRC, seemingly loads of the regs live in ancient houses prone to waves of giant arachnids, leading to all sorts of hilarious japes. -

But they like, scurry everywhere all menacingly. The one on the wall is totally staring at me, I can feel it.

Registered 15 years agoI just can't deal with spiders. One with a legspan of an inch is enough to send me running the opposite direction. Not sure why really, they've just always been a thing with me. -
Well they always pop up around the summer time, which is what I call spider season when they just take over. Don't see them around winter time usually...I think the heating brought them back early
Edit: So maybe they do take refuge in warm houses during the winter, but i've never seen them until it starts getting warmer. I know they don't reproduce or live outside in the wintertime. -

Registered 11 years agoIt's nice to see a huge spider in the bathtub when I take the morning shit.
Oh, stupid spider, can't you get out of the tub? -

That's about the time I turn on the shower and just happen to aim it full on at the fucker. -

We used to call my granddad Spiderman. Not cos he had super powers, he just had trouble getting out of the bath!
Where I live during the week has been full a huge spiders for about a month. Knowing the statistics, I'm really afraid of feeling one in my mouth if i wake up suddenly. -
Wow fuck that's a very nice shot...the thing is i'm impressed by spiders. They are quite fascinating creatures, but when one like moves around me something in my brain tells me to freak out. -

Registered 14 years agoIn my total combined time of living in Sweden (Stockholm, about 14 months) I have seen 1 spider and it was a pretty small one (in Gotland, about 150km away)...
I don't miss them. -

I hate the creatures, makes my skin crawl.
Literally.
If they went extinct, I wouldn't mind. -

Registered 14 years agoI have been informed that they are here, in the usual numbers, but if so I have no idea where and, quite frankly, I don't care! I shall leave them to there spidery business, not go looking for them, and live my life in spiderless bliss. -

Wow, that's beautiful.
Spiders COME IN during WINTER, by the way. That's when you're more likely to see them, particularly in drafty houses. -

Registered 13 years agoI can't believe the number of men I know who are scared of spiders! They're pretty harmless and are great at killing mosquitoes, daddy long legs and other nasty bugs that annoy me. -

I hate them so much. Does anyone know of any actual, properly effective things to keep them away? Like spray, or one of those plug-in things that make noises. -

Registered 15 years agoBL - as I've said in many spider threads, conkers in all corners of every room work a treat. You cn get some "Spider-Gone" spray of some sort. Containing none other than horse chestnut oil. -

Registered 16 years agoCannot believe you guys are actually considering sprays to get rid of them.
You will pay I tells ya. Just wait until all the other little critters take over after you have annihilated all the spiders. -

Spiders are VERY much for the win.
Like this one I caught back in 2005. -
Spiders?
