I tried the demo of Swarm, but didn't particularly get on with it. Reviews seem to suggest it gets very frustrating / trial and error-y later on as well, so I didn't bother. Any opinions on World of Keflings? I enjoyed the first game, but wasn't sure whether WoK was different enough to be worth picking up? |

I enjoyed the second Keflings as much as the first one. It's a little bit less free-form but has more specific and interesting missions and a wider range of areas and such. Definitely give the trial a go. -

Registered 14 years agoIt's not massive, but it does have christmassy charm. Worth the 200 points I'd say. -

Registered 8 years agoI also enjoyed Grubbins on Ice. I'd say it's 2-3 hours long.
Wasn't a fan of Last Hobo King though.
Martian Bear is the really difficult DLC isn't it? -

At least try the demo, please. This is such amazing value for money. Trenched / Iron Brigade was one of my very favourite things of last year, especially if you can get chums to play it with you.

Registered 7 years agoI found iron brigade quite dull...
The dlc for stacking and costume quest is just more of the same. Both around 2 hours long -

Registered 14 years agoIron Brigade really didn't appeal to me at all, besides I have so much to start playing/complete/take out of the shrinkwrap that it's just noy funny anymore. -
So... happy wars then. Anyone played it? It came out yesterday I believe, I've queued it now out of curiosity. -

Registered 11 years ago@AdamAsunder I played the beta but wasn't sure about it, plus you could never find an online game. Seems ok, I'm going to queue the full game and see how it is. Probably best played with friends. -
Had a quick go this morning before work. Seemed okay if a little chaotic. Problem is whether it's free or not, with the sheer wealth of full blooded quality games coming out over the next couple of months it's going to have its work cut out for it to get a userbase.
I'll give it more of a blast though first before I'm too cynical. -
Downloaded Happy Wars last night but not touched it yet. Free so it doesn't matter if I hate it.

Me and Lord McCoy were playing it Saturday night. Seems quite fun actually. Hit me up for a game if you like. -
Sounds good. I'll see if you lot are playing this weekend, mate. -
I've been offline (well, apart from my mobile) for a couple of weeks following a house move, so haven't really followed the reactions to NiGHTS and Jet Set Radio. They were quite possibly my favourite games on the Saturn and Dreamcast (although JSR has stronger competition), and I gave the trials a bit of a go yesterday, but they both seemed a bit "twitchier" than I remember so I haven't bought them yet.
Once you've spent some time with the games, do they feel pretty much as they did before? I'm not sure if they've changed something, or if I'm just out-of-practice and soft nowadays. -

Registered 10 years agoSo the this and next week's Deal of the Week sales are...
Batman 16-Oct to 22-Oct
Fucking ridiculous that the Arkham City sale doesn't include the Harley Quinn story DLC. And Bioshock 2 DLC being on sale again just takes the piss.
Batman Arkham City Varies by Region
Catwoman Bundle Pack 400 (50% off)
Arkham Bundle 600 (50% off)
Arkham City Skins Pack 200 (50% off)
Challenge Map Pack 120 (50% off)
Nightwing Bundle Pack 280 (50% off)
Robin Bundle Pack 280 (50% off)
Bioshock 23-Oct to 31-Oct
Bioshock 1 Varies by Region
Bioshock 2 Varies by Region
Minervas Den 400 (50% off)
The Protector Trials 200 (50% off)
Rapture Metro 400 (50% off)
Sinclair Solutions Tester Pack 200 (50% off) -
*insert joke about wanting Risk, Tomb Raider, etc on sale instead*
You're right though, it really is starting to take the piss. I have to wonder if it's because of some stupid contract stuff or just good old fashioned ineptitude. -

Registered 11 years agoI do wonder whether MS were cutting XBLA prices too soon.
A year ago or so you were seeing XBLA releases at half price DOTW within 2-3 months of release, now we're seeing very little of that. The one exception are the MS studios published titles: The Splatters and Alan Wake came on reasonably quickly.
Whatever the reason, there's no arguing that DotW has been poor the past 4-6 months.
As for Bioshock 2, it's a title that I never got round to. Enjoyed Bioshock but didn't feel I needed any more Rapture. Wouldn't mind going back to it, but I'm not sure whether I should just play the original once again... -

I think you're probably onto something there. Most of the big 2012 releases are yet to be on sale, which suggests they have altered the target slightly.
However, MS really can't win here. We have seen quite a few lower rated / low profile 2011 games on sale for the first time ever in recent months and complained about that just as much as the repeated Bioshock / Lara Croft etc. deals.
Basically, to summarise, it's not realistic to have Trials 2 / Minecraft etc. on sale every week, and even if they were on sale frequently, we'd then start whinging that the deals were the same as the other month anyway.
I think the only think that would make us happy is deals of the spend 2400 points / get 600 back type variety, which they seem to have filtered more through rewards since the programme launched. -

Registered 7 years agoQuick few questions: Is xbox live available in Ibiza?
I have family visiting from there and they want to get Happy Action Theatre. I've told them they'll need to buy the whole whole xbox and Kinect and then the game, but it looks like what the little'un wants, she gets.
If I sort them out with an Xbox and Kinect, and set it up with silver xbox live, can they take it over there and plug it in and download H.A.T? They're only here till Friday morning... -

You've just reminded me that I really need to get myself on the rewards program. Every little helps.....as a marketing team once said! -
@Daddy-Doom-Bar It's not on the list but I've heard that is still possible to get on live in other countries. They might have to lie about their location when registering though and I think it means that MS won't give you any support in the case of an issue. -

@spindle9988
I'm generally not a fan of first-person shooters, and I loved it. Very atmospheric and absorbing. The boxed version must be pretty cheap nowadays though, surely? -

Ill have a look, thanks mate -
I'm actually playing Metro at the moment, bought it a couple of years ago, and it's been in the backlog pile ever since.
As Jim says, incredibly atmospheric, and I'm really enjoying it so far (even if I did have to knock it down to 'easy')
