I bought Hell Yeah in the last sale and haven't gotten around to playing it. .gif)
I downloaded the trial of I Am Alive back when it first came out and never even tried it. Perhaps I'll get around to it now. -

Registered 8 years agoI think that's the first time for Counter Strike on sale. Not my sort of thing at all though.
possibly not the first time for Lara Croft: Guardian of Light though, although still well worth picking up!
personally, I already have everything I'm interested in, including I Am Alive, which I picked up on sale last time, but haven't started yet. -

I have Black Knight Sword. Bought it having enjoyed the demo but soon got fed up with it after that. It gets harder.
I like old school but it’s a bit too much of a blast from the past – punishing difficulty, finnicky platforming and repetition.
Its old school but like proper old school – not like Super Meat Boy or Spelunky which are sort of polished retro.
Does that make sense? -

Reminds me of Excite Truck. -
Seems you can still launch yourself miles by driving off the edge of the map, so I'm hopeful

Registered 12 years agoNoticed last night that something strange happened when I booted up my XBox - there was an auto update to the Last FM app - it redownloaded the app without me prompting it, it just appeared in my download queue at the top stopping what i was downloading
Also the Scratch & Win app has just disappeared from my apps
Is this some new undocumented feature that apps are auto updated &/or deleted without any prompting from the user??
Worrying if this is the case & its applied to XBLA games, DLC, etc.....
Stuff could disappear without you being aware when a notional licence expires or Microsoft/publishers decide....
Am i reading too much into this? -

Registered 8 years agoI also had the auto-update, but otherwise you're reading too much into it.
When games are deleted from the marketplace, they are still available for redownloading for those who have already bought them.
There is no reason this is more/less likely to change thanks to this. -

Yeah, Sales & Specials is dead now - it's been delisted for quite a while so it probably makes sense for them to delete it so that they can retire the service behind it.
Not too fussed about them auto-updating apps, tbh. Or deleting apps that are no longer any use. But it might be nice if they actually told you what they were doing before they did it. -
Also, just a warning - if you're a Silver user and haven't taken the new Minecraft update yet then DON'T! Refuse it!
Loading saved worlds is totally broken if you're not a Gold subscriber, you just get a silly message about being disconnected from the server and chucked back to the menu. My daughter was spitting bullets last night, I swear you've never seen an 8-year-old so furious in your life.

Yes it's a bit of a pain! A work around is to disconnect from XBL, everything should work fine then. -

Registered 16 years agoAnyone else give MM a try? Playing it felt a lot like Joyride on motorbikes, I quite enjoyed it and you get a plenty to do with the racing and exploring giving you unlocks so repeating them to try stuff out isn't a bad thing but I'm not sure I'll stump up any cash.
Been a long time since the PC games but I'm sure they didn't play anything like this. -
I downloaded it last night but every time I tried to launch the game it froze my Xbox. In the end I have up and just bought Battle Block Theatre instead. -

Thanks to Chris, I got a copy for review (of Motocross Madness).
It's very nice, jolly, warm. Plenty of content and all the standard features, and good social stuff too.
I just can't recommend you buy it over anything else, though. It's one of those unfortunate games that, whilst doing nothing wrong and lots of things right, just lacks a spark.
Still, I will play more and write a fuller review for AATG. -

Registered 16 years agoHmmm the kids are enjoying the MM demo but it all looks and feels a bit... rickety. Like it is just waiting to hardcrash the xbox. if it gets patched then it might be a good buy but with 3 black screens on launch and numerous texture pop ins it isn't selling itself too well at the moment.
Nice game underneath though.... -

Enjoying motocross madness, only bought it earlier but its got its own charm compared to the old games as good arcade feel to it. Just not enough tracks in the game for racing unless they got dlc planned.
