This Friday: New Aphex Twin EP 'Cheetah', about 30 minutes of mellowed chill beats n breaks and weird noises, non boring!! Insert link here for stream on BBC6 radio (around 1h05m) or something like that. Really smart, enjoyed that

Been listening to clips on iTunes from Carpenter Brut, Danger, Perturbator.. 80s inspired electronic music, some of which is on the game Furi.

Anyone recommend one of their albums?

@IronGiant Go back to previous page, see recommendations :)

Carpenter Brut's Trilogy is particularly ace. I keep discovering new favourites. Meet Matt Stryker is great, and Paradise Warfare just keeps on giving. Invasion AD is a good finisher.

Ooooof had to have both of those albums. Perturbator, Carpenter Brut along with Gunship will be enough to satisfy my needs.

I did actually buy the Furi OST which is pretty ace. Particularly enjoyed some of the Danger tracks.

The Upbeats' new EP is very good. This is my favourite song of the year so far.. I had a quasi-religious experience when they dropped this in their set I saw at Boomtown:

New Noisia album is also excellent

This makes me want to kick doors down

Carpenter Brut's Trilogy is superb, IMO Perturbator's Dangerous Days and Uncanny Valley are the absolute apex of synthwave. Went to see him live a couple of months ago and the music is still ringing in my ears. :)

Look up synthwave on Youtube and you'll find a ton of playlists with lots of artists which are pretty good, but those two guys are king.

I hadn't heard these guys before you put me on to them. Shameful given they are from NZ.

Just purchased the new album. Ta.

@GarlVinland agree on those two being the best of synthwave, although recently discovered Gost and he's almost as good.

Just caught this track on Beats 1, it was about half way through when I heard it so went back and listened to the whole thing. It's rather good and I'm going to check out some more of their stuff when I can.

Never sat and listened to that before. Loved the start and the 4 note melody but when it sped up my brain kept pulling out just 2 notes and it kind of went all two tone, I had to work to hear the melody . . . is that weird?

There's a new NiN EP out now along with their older albums available in high res along with lovingly created vinyl limited editions.

Needless to say I've spent a small fortune on the vinyl ;)

New Depeche Mode single out tomorrow, interested to hear that with a new producer on board for this album.

Some decent tracks on the latest Sohn album.. i like Dig For Victory by Public Service Broadcast, anyone here a fan of theirs?

The new(ish) calibre album is pure fire.

Guaranteed to blow your socks off, then settle you down in a nice leather armchair and give you a shoulder massage.

We should have a Spotify playlist recommendations thread. Anyway this has loads of good stuff on. It's my goto "stick random on while driving" at the minute.

    M.O.O.N. ‎– Clinically Blasé

Not bad, bit lightweight and down-tempo but that's ok.

Enjoyed that - seemed deliberately old skool. I'm still listening to the XLR8R podcast she did (one of the first, so about ten years old) but still brilliant.

Ooh I'll check that out and her new album, I'm a fan of her Orchestra of Bubbles album with Apparat.

The XLR8R podcasts in general are great quality and usually interesting in the way they are put together. I've only downloaded about 30 or so but the DJ Koze one is incredible, and the ones by Laurent Garnier, Kollectiv Turmstrausse, and The Orb are all top notch too.
