I've been listening to Starcadian (Albums Saturdaze and Sunset Blood, I think I prefer Saturdaze, it has an excellent 4-track instrumental epilogue that is basically just a move score), and Dance With the Dead.

Both are probably synthwave - Starcadian more dancey, Dance with the Deat more heavy metal (some, not all, tracks have lots of distorted guitar, it's epic :) ).

Just bought the debut album by 3Teeth.. it's apparently a throwback to industrial bands like KMFDM, Skinny Puppy, 16 Volt with a sprinkling of NIN, Marilyn Manson and Depeche. I'll give it a good listen tomorrow :)

And now bought their follow up album, Shutdown.exe!

More synth than in their first album, this one produced by Sean Bevan, and its definitely more accessible though still snarling :)

Was surprised to see a new Burial EP had snuck out without much mention.

Perhaps no mention because it's a bit shite.

There's possibly a case to make that it isn't music as such.

I dunno... I does sound very much like he is now making stuff directly for Adam Curtis to use and this does appear to be his Eno noise period but I think it kind of works.

I do think that it would work much better as an album, though as it's quite hard to get into the headspace to listen to it in just two tracks.

You not seen the adverts everywhere for his album? Apparently he won Britain's Got Talent, not sure how though.

I actually saw the advert for this Tokio guy and thought it sounded alright, but the Britain's got Talent moniker negatively affected my view, a bit how I'd recoil if I picked up an album with a BRITS sticker on.

Hidden Orchestra - Alyth (Nuage remix) came up on my Spotify release radar this week, and is rather lovely.

This is the thread for recommendations. If you've nothing to recommend beyond listening to the electronics category on various streaming sites, then you're not really adding anything when you think about it.

    TLDR; Shut up

SM77 I Imagine dragons is more a grooming kids kind of track where as I think Lazerhawk is straight up abduction. Betamaxx is straight up slaughter.

In a turn away from my usual ambient/glacially slow electronic stuff, I am currently only listening to as many 90s/00s dance-rave-house-whatever tracks as I can. Jeremy Healy+Amos's 'Stamp' alongside Brainbug's 'Nightmare' and then Prodigy, Faithless, whatever, then a Calvin Harris remix from way out the time period, then Nuyorican Soul and so on.

TLDR: I got no idea, I'm just jamming in whatever I like. So, fill me with your favourites of that era and I will give them a shot.

New Carpenter Brut! A bit short, but still.

@gamecat listening to it now! He's been moving towards a more metal sound and he embraces it here. Beware the Beast is more Black Sabbath than synthwave. Loving it.

    Also addicted to this;

The new Carpenter Brut album inspired me to get some more synthwave.

    Waveshaper - Station Nova
Scandroid - Neo-Tokyo (Dance with the Dead remix)
ALEX and Tokyo Rose - Akuma

All excellent, maybe a hair down from Carpenter Brut and Perturbator IMO.
