New Orbital album is out. Monsters Exist.

Best album in years although there is 1 duffer in there. Quite different from other stuff they have done. Some of these will be fantastic live.

That Coldplay (really?) bit is just gutpunchingly good. 54:08 and on a bit is more than I would have been able to handle back in my clubbing days. Just sensational.

Just catching up on that jon hopkins set wonderful, think I'll follow it up with the Underworld 2016 set.

My current listening habits below, I'm not not a at the forefront of this scene but certainly like it, anyone got any good tips for new listening similar to these?

@PatrickEwing Have a crack at some of Moderat's stuff. Maybe Stefan Bodzin - his Boiler Room set is damn good. You might like some of Bicep's last album.

I've got a few more, but gone blank for the moment!

OH! Shoutout to DJ Koze - probably my album of the summer (Singularity is probably my album of the year so far). It's by turns melancholy, hilarious, uplifting and chilled out, fucking great stuff.

Going to see Hopkins live in November at the Manchester Albert Hall, which is a stunning venue. Part of the Warehouse Project, it's gonna be a big night.

Good one on Jon Hopkins tickets. I do need to get to the Albert Hall, I missed out on Gomez there. Love that size venue, similar to the the Ritz and also Gorilla. I'm going to Hookworms at the Ritz in November, can't wait.

The Carpenter Brut show last night was quality. Everyone knew the lyrics and went mad during Beware the Beast and Maniac. Also the first CB show I'd been to with a mosh pit.

@Technoishmatt I like CB as much as the next guy, but less energy doesn't equal boring. I'd argue there's more going on in your average JH track, it's just a different mood.

I like slower more minimal stuff fine. But that JH stuff sounded like somebody got stuck at a full moon party in Thailand a decade ago and was being haunted by the music.

Singularity is good, although I do prefer the shorter edits of some of the songs on it. A bit punchier.

I've been listening to a lot of Throwing Snow recently. Avarice is a great headphone tester.

but the new Celldweller album, Remixed Upon a Blackstar, has some great remixes on there. The remix of The Seven Sisters by Voicians and Fury Weekends remix of The Lucky One being faves of mine.

Max Cooper's A Hundred Billion Sparks is not shit.

Standout tracks probably aren't representative of the whole album, but Phi and Identity are great.

I played about with Jon Hopkins Luminous Beings a little, with inspiration from Alan Watts an Eastern Philosopher commenting on Time, The Social Institution. V2.0 worked out better.
