Street Fighter IV Started to get reasonably good, read the thread, got scared. don't think he threw an SRK until about halfway through the vid, and that was after he'd hit a j.hp, plus he's clearly trying to learn stuff like c.lp x 2 > c.mk.Wtf? |

Got to the first proper alien level and got my arse kicked by the cyborg thingys. Gave up after that as the earlier levels were enjoyable enough. I'm not a masochist!
Halo Wars
Got boring very, very quickly. Final nail in the coffin was when I finished a campaign mission (can't remember which one), only to be greeted with 'Mission Failed' or words along those lines. Fuck that, I know for a fact I didn't fail it.
Kane and Lynch
Like DDevil it was the Cuba levels that did it for me. The helicopter part was one of the most ridiculous difficulty spikes I've witnessed in a recent mainstream game, and virtually impossible to get through without wanting to snap the disc in half, shit on each piece, and then posting it through the letter box of Simon Cowell as an example of 'Uber shite'. -

Fuck you, Cuba!
Jericho
I just got bored with it. So many better FPS games out there, so i went & played some of them instead.
Fable 2
For some reason, i just stopped playing this one day & never picked it back up.
Forza 2 & Ridge Racer 6
I have no idea why the fuck i bought these, given that i hate racing games with a passion (Burnout being the exception.) They got about 30 minutes each & will never be played again.
Rainbow 6 Vegas 2 & Ninja Gaiden 2
Loved the originals, but these bored the shit out of me for some reason.
Resistance 2, LBP & Lost
I lost all of my progress on these, along with Killzone 2 when my PS3 died. I restarted Killzone, but i haven't touched these since.
I do fully intend to play through all of the above (except RR6 & Forza) eventually though. -

Looks beautiful and runs silky smooth but is way too hardcore. All reviewers say it is for everyone with an excellent training mode, I do not agree. DOA4 has an excellent training mode and for my money is the far better game.
Superman
Bought it for a fiver thinking how bad can it be? Very.
Infinite Undiscovery
Played for a good long while killing stuff and whatnot looking for the next place I was supposed to visit. Suddenly I got a message telling me my disc needed cleaning, lost over an hours worth of play cos the fukker wont let you save. Placed the disc (Looked brand new which it is) back in the box. May go back but it has been relegated to the bottom of the pile. -

Registered 17 years agoGTAIV - Like crackdown but without the fun.
Halol 3 - Online = fire a few rounds, smack in the face. Get killed. Repeat. I like my shooters to be a little more tactical (and made by valve and on the PC). -
Mass effect
I can see how great it could be but never had the time or energy to really start it up.
Lost Odyssey
ANother game that looks great but again not enough time to begin the 4 DISC! journey.
Heavenly Sword
Still stuck on the last bloody boss for 2 years now.
Ninja Gaiden 2
Fuck its hard but I do like sticking my balls back in the blender now and again.
Folklore
40% of the way through and just stopped dunno why as I think its ace. Not touched it in 6 months now. -
Ico
Whoever thought a section where you a have time window 0.00001 to press the jump button needs to be thrown off the next cliff.

Wtf?
problem is there are 2 types of SFIV players
Someone like me who knows a few moves and enjoys a good 2 player or online kicking etc.
Or the super Y=>KKKKKUP when facing down diagonal, boys who get all excited about parries and supers etc.
Play it to your own standard -

DMC4
Played this for mabye 15 minutes. Sometimes a game just won't click, but never gave up so quickly on a game I had bought at retail so fast.
Got through the tutorial mission and then onto the first level and that was that. Shit combat (does that double-barelled magnum do ANY damage?) unbelievable characters with both wear the same clothes and hair and the whole overwhelmingly smug emo tone can just fuck off.
Sorry but DMC4 is all sorts of fucking awesome! -

I'm obviously in the minority, but I thought it was rather...dull.
Kane and Lynch
Another member of the 'It Must Be Worth a Fiver, Surely?' club. Gave up at Cuba, not just because of the difficulty spike, it just wasn't very good.
Mad World
The novelty wore off very quickly.
Last Remnant
Dissapointing. There's a lot I liked about this, but brutal difficulty spikes put paid to this one.
I'm sure there are others.. -

Got it in the swapsies thread last week. It's very nearly as good as the first one.
Anyway:
Fallout 3
I just can't walk any more!
Far Cry 2
Pretty much the same problem as Fallout. -
Quake 4: It's a really fun game with some surprising attention to detail but the difficulty has spiked a little and it put me off. I'll definitely be back to this before long, though sometimes it's hard to get past the very dated graphics.
Alone in the Dark: Interesting game. Some incredibly daring design decisions have been made here and unfortunately the majority worked out poorly and become cumbersome for the gamer. There's enough that's new here to make it worth playing through I think, just got to push past the initial scariness of the controls.
Dark Sector: This is one game I'm not sure I'll finish. It was the one of the 3 I was most certain I'd like before I started. The shooting controls are satisfying, graphically it's pleasing and there's a nice weapon upgrade system to push you to collect money and items from the level. It's just sooooooo bland, such a generic title. Feels like a chore to progress. -

That new Riddick game. Well more accurately the first part of it (Escape From Butcher Bay).
Really didn't appreciate having the weapons being taken away from the player for such an extended period of time. It also doesn't feel very coherent. It has adventure elements to it, but you're never quite sure how far they extend, and the 'rules' of the game world never really become clear.
I've thought about going onto the second part of the game but it would irk me somewhat not finishing the first part, so just left it.
Bah. -

Heresy, I know.
I'm quite near the end, I think. I'm in some kind of alien gaff crawling with flood and I just can't be arsed. Shades of Half Life 1 and the shitty alien bits at the end of that.
Keep shitty alien bits out of FPSs.
Gears of War 1
More heresy. In truth, I quite like this and might dip in again. The berserkers are too much of a game spoiling pain, though. I'm at the second berserker in like a green house area. Again, can't be arsed. I'd rather shoot Liberty's pigeons and grind out XP in FO3. -

I bought it for six quid the other day, as I quite liked the notion of tilt controlled dragons. And it can't be as bad as the reviews and general word of mouth made out, can it?...
...yes. Yes it can. What a bag of shite.
I've failed at defending this already today, but I recently bought it for £5 and found it not bad. But it is essential to use the sticks and crosshair options instead of the motion sensing crap. -
I hardly ever not finish games. But there have been a couple recently
Little Big Planet
Just didn't click with me. I can see the appeal, but I found it all a little too dull in gameplay terms, and I had no interest in designing levels.
God of War
I haven't actually 'stopped' on this yet, but I've just started the fourth level and I'm not sure I really want to continue. I've got to be honest, I don't see the hype. Again just not clicking.
Assassins Creed
I wanted to love this, and I did at the start, jumping around buildings was great fun. But then I quickly learnt that every building was pretty much the same, and that the combat was as shallow as that vacuous bird that Hamilton is dating. -

Heh. Yup... a war against Space Fraggles. With novelty voices. I'd rather hunt ALF for sport.
Oh, Phattso... try Lair with the patched stick controls and it's far better. -

Finished the single player campaign, which was good.
Moved onto the MP thinking that it'd be all sorts of awesome, and keep me hooked through the summer months. It just didn't click, and I still find myself choosing CoD4 MP over this. -

Agreed espibara, it doesn't help that the in-game help is useless, using terms that are hard to understand on the moves list. I have a controller not a stick Capcom! Nor does it show you how to time and pull off the difficult combinations to help raise your skill level. Many of which are or debatable use anyway as the balance is way off on many characters moves and tactics.
Which might explain why I haven't played SF4 in several weeks, online play can expose annoying exploits I don't notice playing single player or with friends.
Finally, try not to think about Seth, he never happened, you had all the cast unlocked from the start! The mere thought has had me contemplating throwing my copy out of the window in disgust on several occasions. -

Ninja blade
utter shite, 2 minutes of hack and slash then constant QTE, add in some shit level level design and you have a major fuck up (luckily it was a rental) -

35% in was enough for me, shame as when it flowed I really enjoyed. I found the Bionic arm way to twitchy, just me I'm sure. I just couldn't time the release/grab mechanic and that combined with a shit check pointing system led to the game just became very frustrating. No chance to return to it, I have already swapped.
First game I have quit in a long while, I generally just plough on swearing everymore at the tv.
By the way boys, the Cuba level in K&L...I pissed
-
Velvet Assassin 360
The stealth mechanics are messed up and the game is simply too unforgiving if you make "mistakes". Also the checkpoints are too far spread apart. Can't be bothered with this one anymore.
