@monkman76 Iíve still got perfect teeth except for one gold crown near the back where I broke a tooth on a pear drop

Iíd just pour the Coke straight down my throat avoiding my teeth or use an IV drip (towards the end)

Another winner from Mikkeller. Their "Limbo Series" - Riesling 0.3%. Really interesting flavour. 3.5/5.

Thanks for the Big Drop recommendation. Iíd been working through some fancy schmancy Beer 52 ales since Xmas and these are every bit as good despite no/low alcohol content. Didnít want to trawl through a supermarket at the moment so ended up paying £8 for delivery, ugh. Need to find somewhere that doesnít charge another four or five beers to get the stuff to your door...

Tried Thornbridge Zero Five. Can't seem to make my mind up on it... I don't hate it though?

27 kcal for 330ml, which is a bit of a win.

This reminds me of a story my mum once told. She used to drink a lot, especially when I was younger. She was going through a spell of doubt about her consumption and rang AA to talk to someone about it. She described what she drank, didn't need a drink in the morning, drank at the weekends only etc. The advisor just replied "no madam, you are not an alcoholic. You are a drunk.". Which she was quite happy with! I guess these days she would have been classed as an alkie but the early 80s was a different time....

Drunk = someone addicted to getting drunk. Alcoholic = someone addicted to alcohol. I can see how they could be considered different aspects of the same thing.

    I'm not an alcoholic I'm a drunk.

    Alcoholics go to meetings.

Heh, mate of mine wears that shirt to nearly all public venues he goes to. He habitually does get drunken on those occasions. :)

Ahh fuck, I've just realised it's the Superbowl this weekend. I guess I'll just have a major blowout on Sunday. :D

Just tried Tiny Rebel's Rhubarb & Custard AF... smells exactly like the sweets! Thankfully not as sweet as them though, and only 40kcal for a can. 3/5

Did far better than expected on my first night back. Three pints of 10% and some rum, no drama.

Another six days on the AF now I think.

21 days in. Amazon made their monthly delivery of two bottles of vodka, I really should have cancelled that.

I'm seriously tempted, but I'd really like to go for the full thirty days and permanently modify my behaviour beyond that to just occasionally drinking, on one night a week maybe.

I can't say I've noticed any great health benefits as of yet, perhaps some weight loss that I might need to adjust for if I start to get too far into underweight territory. If anything the hundred miles or so I cycle every week seems harder.

I think I've drunk four nights so far in Feb. Doing OK, though one of those nights was HEAVY drinking... had to sort of search around online to make sure I hadn't said anything stupid (moreso than usual).

Still feeling like this whole lockdown is making it so I can't drink responsibly. On the bright side, I've found a few more AF beers that I like.

It messed with my training pretty badly to start, though I noticed I was recovering from sessions much better towards the end. In fact, the only session I've flat out failed in this training block was two days after that heavy drinking session... and I still felt significantly less than 100%.

Made it through Dry January. Keeping it sane in February so far - splitting 1 bottle of wine with the wife twice a week, 2 alcohol free nights, and 3 nights where I can have Ďa drinkí but no wine. Usually a whisky around 10pm. Total alcohol consumption considerably reduced. Empty bottles in the recycling also considerably reduced.

My recycling is significantly up! Normally I'm drinking spirits, but instead I'm doing two or three AF a night so it's definitely mounting up.

That wine / not wine thing is interesting. Did you tend to drink too much wine otherwise?

Wine is so easy to sesh on, especially if you have a few good bottles in.

I'm a solid binge drinker. I can go for weeks without a beer, but once I get started, I don't stop until I'm reeling.

I think i've developed some sort of intolerance for beer in the last 3 months. Whenever i have just 1 beer, i develop a mild headache after about an hour or two.

The other day i had 2 beers and i woke up the next day feeling nauseous and with a massive headache as if i'd been on an all day bender.

Thought it might be the weird pack i ordered from beerhawk so i tried a coors light but same effect.

    Bit concerning.

Poured some vodka into my diet coke on Monday and that was fine, go figure.

Yes, I have discovered that wine is definitely my weakness. Beer and gin, I only really want a few. But wine, can do most of a bottle without thinking about it.

@THFourteen drink 5 or 6 and see how you go. Not enough beer imo. Need to get back into training for later in the year.

I've completely gone off beer during this pandemic. It's such hard work. You constantly need the toilet, constantly feel bloated, and it always does a number on my guts the next morning.

I've taken to drinking bourbon & coke, gin & tonic, or red wine. I can drink half a bottle of bourbon or a bottle of wine and feel fine the next day.

My friends all see spirits as "end of the night" drinks, after all the beer, but I'm sticking to spirits permanently from now on, start to finish.
