The recent Steam offer (all GTA games & Add-ons - minus London, for a flippin' fiver) has re-ignited my interest in all things GTA.

I only played the first few minutes of Vice City yesterday - I really do wish that we could have had another 80s'-era setting for the fifth game.

Perhaps there just aren't enough Phil Collins' tracks to go around?

Edit: Funny how Tony was such a really cool and likeable character and yet still the head of a crime family.
    Set it in Jersey?
Old post but made me laugh.

Youd be surprised how much gang-related shit goes on there though.

Well since we have now murdered GTA IV with all these threads, I thought we could make an early start on GTA V. I have it on good authority from a friend who has a cousin who works at Costcutter, that the following features are included:

Whenever you kill a cop, a little tv appears in the top right of the screen and shows scenes from his funeral (complete with grieving widow and inconsolable children).

Whenever you have sex with a prostitute you can harvest her clitoris. If you collect enough, you can thread them to form a necklace your character can wear (collecting 50 unlocks the 'cliterati' achivement worth 20 points).

Ian Huntley is an unlockable player character.

One of the radio stations plays looped audio clips from the Berlin Rally.

The Wii version allows you to use the controller to wank-off Russian sailors.
If these features arent in, I will not be happy.

I didn't like all the over the top stuff in San Andreas - stealing fighter planes and jet packs and the like.

GTA 4 is definitely my favourite; I don't think people realise how far the core driving and shooting mechanics came along.

Not sure why they'd announce this if that wasn't the case, imho.

    I just want planes back.

Whatever happened to Agent, the Rockstar North PS3 exclusive?

It may as well be. It's most definitely vapourware.

People say that about every Rockstar game. It'll come out eventually. Probably next gen, and it won't be exclusive.

Anyone else not really excited by this? Played every GTA game until completion, but sort of burnt out on them. They don't really do it for me anymore. Unless they shake it up majorly this time, which I'm certain they won't, I may not pick this up.

Im beting when they start showing trailers there going to start bigging up all the "new" incusions like planes and bikes and loads of other shit that they had in GTA's nearly ten years ago but took out of IV for some reason.

Yeah, you can't beat a good GTA game. And I love GTAIV. Never understood the hate for it.

Can't wait for more details about this.

Have to admit it is amazing that it has to be at least 7 years ago that I last played GTAIII but I can still visualize most of the map in my head quite clearly.I remember 80% I bet. Brilliant game.

    Why wouldn't they?

People still get excited about COD games even they're shat out every 12 months.

I just need to know when the release date will be for my semi-regular Rockstar week off work.

We've had one GTA game this gen, with two expansion packs. It's been a very long time, in games industry terms, since a "proper" GTA release.

So people will understandably be excited. The combination of biting satire, world design, soundtrack and story is something that noone has managed quite like Rockstar.

While I wont deny that the GTA games are exceptionally well put together, I cannot get excited for them at all.
I've played every GTA game since 3 and for the life of me I do not know why. I've never got on with a single one of them, yet have still bought them.

    Stupid stupid me.

I'm really bored of them and it doesn't help when Rockstar never fix the series long standing problems. Pretty fed up with them just doing a paint job. I hope they surprise me though.

I guess one last hurrah on current consoles for 2012 and then next gen is upon us.
