@Deckard1 Yeah it's an insulting way to deal with some of your customers IMO no matter how small the base. Sure they may get some double dips but outside of keeping console manufacturers happy I really no reason to deny a PC version completely like they do. Sure release it after but to just ignore some of your customers and leave them in the dark while you sell to the others is shitty, I love Rockstars games but they are arrogant gits when it comes to PC. Fair enough. I hope there is a PC version, I'm just going on what we know so far, and the latest (?) from Rockstar is that Grand Theft Auto 5 Wii U/PC "up for consideration".
Were they this cagey about the PC version of GTA IV or was there always going to be one from the get-go, just delayed?.

Outside of MP3 you always get the same response from them "no PC version...at this time", and yes that goes for 4 to. -

Do you see a PC version being more likely than a Wii U one? Seems like they are equal footing at the moment in Rockstar's eyes as far as getting a port goes... I'm no tech-wizz, but I imagine they would take very different efforts. -

Honestly I'm not sure, technically I don't see no reason other than time and resources to port it.
In the back of my mind though GTA on a ninty console just doesn't sound right. I know there was Chinatown wars on DS but when I look at 4 I don't see that on a ninty console and the old 3D ones never came to a ninty console so not sure sure it will happen to be honest, hope it does though for WiiU only owners sell games to everyone is my motto. -

Registered 7 years agoYou could argue that if they delayed the console version so that they could release the pc version at the same time then it'd insult console gamers, as they would have to wait for the pc version to be ready.
Or you could just accept that as the pc version will be improved then it takes a bit of time to make, and you know how secretive they are on release dates.
I can't see it being released on the wiiU. Most wiiU owners already own a 360 or PS3, I imagine, so wouldn't make much sense from rockstar's point of view.

No you misunderstand I don't care if it's late (although other probably will) no need to release at the same time I just think the cloak and dagger aspect is un-needed and creates a bad relationship with a section of thier customer base. Like I said even arrogant gits like Ubi will simply say "you are getting it but late".
Like I say though they swear by it so it must do something for them.

Again RDR was a new "unproven" game, an IP bought from someone else and made by Rockstar San Diego and there was simply no time or resources to port it.

Well "expect" is a strong word with regards to further RDR but the thing is depsite the way they do sell on PC they are very good supporters of the platform (which makes their methods doubly annoying ) and pretty much all their games come over so given it's success it is very possible to see RDR2 come to PC. No doubt it's become a key series for them given the success it saw but time will tell. -

Amazon France have put up a pre-order by mistake. No date given and could be an error anyway as retailers sometimes do guess but worth noting they've supposedly let the cat out of the bag before with them outing BLOPS2.

I think Red Dead Rebellion will come out on PC as well, I was under the impression RDR wasn't on PC because the console version was development hell and porting it was near on impossible because of the codebase. -
