Yeah, seemed about even in the end. So much RAGE from Zeldas fireballs!! -
We should play stock matches more often. You don't have to rush as much.
I like the way me and Crisp kind of join forces whenever Semprini goes on his Din's Fire rampage. -

Registered 13 years agoHehe, it's one of her best weapons, although I can appreciate how annoying it can be, after having been on the receiving end of many a barrage myself. I find that Zelda is better as a range fighter with the fireball or nipping in quick for an attack and then retreating. When she's in the thick of it she tends to get a hefty battering. Opposite for Kirby, he (it?) has no range attacks so has to get stuck in.
Anyway, must try to practice taking Ganondorf down, as Cid won with him most times last night. -
Good utilisation of her up smash as well. That bastard drills through everything. -

Registered 13 years agoHer flying kick thing is lethal too. Delivers huge damage but it's such a bugger to get right, it rarely connects. My main problem with Zelda is trying not to commit suicide so often and keeping her on the ground as she's crap in the air. -
Her two aerials that don't require deadly accuracy are good, but yeah, those kicks are very risky. Just like Captain Falcon's flying knee attack, which I was trying to pull off on the Metal Gear stage, and finally did so near the end. :') -

Registered 13 years agoAccording to a bunch of super geeks who eat, sleep and dream Brawl - this is who they reckon are the best to worst characters:
S: Meta Knight
A: Snake, Diddy Kong, Falco, Ice Climbers, Marth, Wario
B: King Dedede, Pikachu, Olimar, Lucario, Mr. Game & Watch
C: Pit, Toon Link, Zero Suit Samus, Kirby, R.O.B.
D: Donkey Kong, Peach, Fox, Luigi, Wolf
E: Sheik, Pokémon Trainer, Sonic, Ness, Bowser
F: Lucas, Ike, Yoshi, Mario, Falcon, Samus, Jigglypuff
G: Zelda, Link, Ganondorf
So it looks like we favour the 'worst' 3 characters
-
Keep in mind that's based on tournament rules. The list would probably be quite different if we were talking three or four player matches, but these people don't do that sort of thing.

Tuesday bump mofos! -
Bring it! -
By the way, what controls do you guys use? I use the nunchuk and mote, with smash commands assigned to the d-pad. -
Cube pad for me. The only thing I changed about the setup was to turn tap jump off. -
You use a button to jump? -
Yeah, I think it's easier. One of the main reasons I didn't stick with the remote and nunchuk is because there's no suitable jump button. -

Registered 13 years agoI use the same as you Crispy. C is jump, full press for normal jump, light press for hop jump (not that they ever work online!). -
Yeah, I've always tried to play it the way Cid does as it makes more sense to me, but I'm so used to the way I currently play.
May have to give the Classic a whirl tonight. -

Tell that to Ganon's short-hop thunder stomp!
Having tap jump on makes using attacks that involve pressing "up" annoying. I'd always jump when I didn't want to. -

Registered 13 years agoUgh, up to jump is hideous, I turned that off straight away. I find in local multiplayer or single player the hop jump is easy to do but online is much harder, maybe because of lag. -
I'm using up to jump, what's a hop jump?
Do you guys think there'll be any issue using the d-pad for movement? -

Registered 13 years agoLike Cid, I found up to jump was making me jump when I didn't want to, so I set it to C. Hop jump is exactly that, a small hop, or half a jump. Rather than a full press you quickly tap or flick the button. I don't know how you'd do that using up though.
I imagine d-pad for movement would be awkward, I have it set to smash as you do. Pulling off smashes otherwise would be a lot harder. -
And Z button for block? -

Man I want to play this NOW!!
/boots Dolphin -
Are you talking about using the classic pad, Crisp? The d-pad wouldn't be a problem on that, but I can't see it working too well with the remote and nunchuk. -

That cunting move is the bane of me!
