Summer mixtape challenge Page 3

There's some great songs mentioned in here so far.
Len, i bought that on single, also The New Radicals - You Get What You Give.

Anyway... my mixtape (subject to instant change).

    1) The Apples In Stereo - Same Old Drag

    2) The Isley Brothers - Summer Breeze

    3) Bell X1 - Flame

    4) Martha and the Vandellas - Heatwave

    5) Beirut - Postcards from Italy

    6) The Promise Ring - Stop Playing Guitar

    7) The Doobie Brothers - What A Fool Believes/Drift Away

    8) Go Find - Summer Guest

    9) Sia - Buttons

    10) The Knife - We Share Our Mothers Health

    God there's too many songs.
I'd also have to make a nostalgia mixtape.

    BUMP

I made another mixtape. I forgot to name the tunes when I uploaded it, sorry. Here's the tracklist though.:

    1. Border Crossing - Ominous

Ridiculously heavy beat. Really like this song, break yo' neck to this yo.

    2. Breakin Bread (don't know the MC) - The Abominable Snowman

Heavy, amusing and odd tune. Scottish accent rapping works well!

    3. Eric B & Rakim - Let the Rhythm Hit Em (Omega Remix)

So, so good. The up tempo remixed beat goes nicely with Rakim's style

    4. Underground Kings Feat. Outkast - International Players Anthem

Love the beat, I'm a fan of UGK anyway and this is about their most accessible tune

    5. Lamb - Angelica

    Gorgeous, hypnotic song.

    6. Koop Feat. Ane Brun - Koop Island Blues

I keep pimping Koop to you, here is the song that got me into them in the first place

    7. The Free Association - Sugarman

There are a few versions of this song, I like this one. Pretty but gritty.

    8. Aretha Frankin - The House That Jack Built

Lifting the mood a bit with my favourite Aretha song. Mmm funky.

    9. Lee Dorsey - A Lover Was Born

There are more famous Lee Dorsey songs than this one, this is great though. Again, nice and funky.

    10. Donal Leace - Today Won't Come Again

This is a lovely song to end on. One of my funeral songs in fact, not that its melancholy. I find it cheerful myself.

Link here - straight to zip file

The first rule of mixtape club is you do not post lists without appropriate downloads.

I would do it if I know how to do it.

    I'm terrible at using computers.

Baker Street by Gerry Rafferty, recorded over and over on both sides of a C90 tape.

That's what my ex-boss subjected me to on a shared drive from Suffolk to Liverpool and back. The same song, over and over again. FUCK YOU, AUTO REVERSE

For that reason, I have a deep suspicion of mixtapes.
