| I haven't tried it online since launch where there was less problem, may have to dig it out again soon when I get some free time and try and get used to teh odd (to me) button setup... |

Registered 16 years agoI had a play before MvC3 dropped. I played it on the classic controller and it works pretty nicely.
Its probably the better game, tbh. Its a shame they didnt port it over to the 360, really. -

Registered 18 years agoEh, it's a bit dry compared with MvC3. Way more like SFIV with flashing lights. Game system is not really flexible enough for a vs series game, everything is kind of summed up by Ryu being top tier in this game and fairly low tier in MvC3. It's not that it's a bad game by any means, but it needed to be developed further, and they took those ideas and put them in MvC3. Baroque is a much more well-rounded mechanic than X-Factor, though, I'll give you that. Character selection is also obviously better, shame they didn't include some playable "giants" in MvC3, even if they were locked behind some menu setting to make them non-standard.
As for does anyone "still" play it... lol. -
Don't really follow regarding Ryu being top tier and him being fairly low tier is indicative of it inflexibility.
I thought everyone had been raving on about Batsu and Zero, my mistake. -

Registered 12 years agoI still play but also can't get a game online either. I guess MvC3 might be the final nail in the TvC online coffin.
I use the GC controller and edited the layout so the attack buttons are lined up in a straight line with Y as the partner button.
The lack of online action sucks, and the roster is a bit of a mystery to me, but the payoff is that it's a cheap game with no DLC crap, so I reckon I get my monies worth. Still I'd love a Wii port of MvC2 as compensation for the lack of MvC3 on Wii. -

Batsu is not great tbh. Tops are like Zero, Chun-Li, Jun The Swan, Ken The Eagle, Mega Man, PTX-40A, Ryu, Tekkaman Blade, Yatterman-1 from the last tier list I saw.

Zero represents the same problem as Ryu, and this has not been "fixed" in his MvC3 incarnation - incredibly dry, one-pattern rushdown. Ryu has basically one awesome combo, a great Super, and a fireball that covers a decent portion of the screen. He has about the same in MvC3, but because the game system is more flexible it's not enough to make him as strong. -

Registered 12 years agoAnyone noticed it's been a lot easier to find online games the last few days. I wonder if MvC3 has actually sparked interest in this game again. -

Yeah it's a great game, shame it's in the shadow of SF4 and now MvC3, but it is a cool and quirky little something exclusive for the Wii. Would have liked a few more Streetfighter characters though, or at least some more big grapplers. -

Registered 18 years agoOh, for your mum? Probably SmaBro, then. And definitely not Guilty Gear. If she wants it to give to someone as a present, then yeah, maybe TvC. -

Registered 13 years agoWent with smash bros, cheers dude. My mum's weird like this, she just enquires about something cool. Like before I went to uni, she randomly bought the first Muse album and then ranted about how they'd never be as good as Radiohead. -

Look on ebay, you can get a brand new one for around £12-15 -
Anyone still playing this? Tempted by the glorious mess that Street Fighter 5 is I tried it out last night. Very accessible and plays very nicely with the fight stick in Wii mode on the Wii U. I think I'll just stick with this until SF sorts itself out. I usually get excited about fighting games then quickly give up when I release I'm awful at them.
