    Yeah i had the same thing, they sent an engineer and then told me there was a problem in the area that needed to be fixed and gave me a date 3 weeks later.

    To be fair toi them, they did fix it and now i get ~100mbps all times of day, and they refunded me the money for 3 weeks.

    Well that's a bit more promising, hopefully they acknowledge a problem and do have plans to fix. I did think it's weird that they would do it, virgin have always been solid for delivering the Internet they offer. See how it goes tonight!

    Oh you have to ask for the refund though, the technical fault team dont deal with customer services.

    It was pretty much a 5 minute conversation when i got through though

    Has anyone had the problem where you have no broadband and your TiVo box comes up with error c130?

    I'm on 100mb and suffering from over utilisation (a term that I loathe) VM assured me that they would be addressing the problem in November when I contacted them in September.

    Roll onto April and they have yet to fix the problem and they claim the work is due to complete in July.

    They are a shower of shit and had it not been for the fact that they have refunded me pretty much all the money I've spent with them during that time (you have to fight for it) I'd have kicked them to the kerb.

    I got a snarky post in on a Virgin Media Twitter post and they attempted sort my problem out. I mentioned the dreaded 'over utilisation' to them and they told me that the engineer works has now been pushed back to September.

    Nearly a year since I first reported the problem.

    Kuntz!

    @Toaster05 yeah, those dates mean nothing. Absolutely don't really on them when making a decision on whether to stay or go. Looks like all the students are going home for summer so I'm getting the full 200mbps I should get, until they come back :)

    I'm getting all sorts of connection drops lately. I've checked to see if it's an issue in my area, but not according to Virgin Media themselves. Last night, on the few occassions I could even connect to the internet, my download speed was 2mb and my uploaded 17.5kb. I've no idea what's going on.

    On top of that, i've only just realised that for the final 6 months of my contract i'll be paying £41 a month for a 50mb connection. I've been royally mugged. My neighbours 2 doors down are paying £38 for 200mb. I'm not much of a haggler when it comes to contracts, so may just leave at the end of the year.

    I'd love to leave them but I really need to get a fibre optic connection to replace it.

    I really don't want to pay line rental, how the fuck that daylight robbery still exists is beyond me.

    Best forum I can find (the EG search function, mobile, is still shit...). Point me at a better forum of need be.

    Virgin Media - Anyone know how to get in contact with them?

    The 0345 number isn't working.

    I've spent over 2 hours on customer 'txt' service, nothing.

    Via Twitter? Fuck all...

    Bill going up, by £30.00. a month.

    Want to negotiate, obviously.

    But, FUCK ME! Grrrrrr.

    If I cancel my DD, presumably that would get the fuckers attention?

    @eleven63 I had to phone 0345 number and was on hold for 40 mins just to change my package, they mean well but surely they should have more people on the phones

    @scott1987

    Cheers. I can't get the 0345 number to work, it just says something like, not currently in use.

    I'm calling from a mobile. Landline has never worked, not a problem with free mobile calls, etc

    I understand holding on the phone, but, blimey, employ more people!

    Wow. That's a bit steep. I'm annoyed with my 3.50 increase.

    @Blackmarsh63

    'Special deal' for 18 months.

    Which is fine.

    But I can reduce my bill by going onto another tariff.

    If I can only fucking contact someone.

    Dull Friday night thread, apologies, 1st world, etc.

    Yeah I love how I agreed a 12 month contract with them for them mid deal to increase my price..somehow I don't think they would have been okay if I wrote to them mid contract that I felt I should play 3.50 a month less.

    Keep trying dude, I know itís bloody painful waiting though. Also for those with a price increase when Iím phoned them in the options menu it gave me the option to apply a 3.50 discount. If I remember correctly I went through the I want to leave option

    Try 0345 454 1098 which is the direct number to retentions.

    Tell them you missed a call back and had already spoken to someone about leaving, then take it from there.

    In my experience don't be afraid to cancel your services there and then. It takes 30 days, during which they will 100% call you back and offer a better deal to stay.

    We 'left' in Nov after a similar price hike, and within a couple of days got a call for our new discounted package of £47pm for 350Mb, Maxit TV incl. BT Sport, and anytime landline calls. Use that as a starting point if you need to haggle.

    It's a joke the public have to do this every 18m/24m though or get royally shafted for utilities, insurance etc etc...

    @Trowel

    Virgin Media... Where to start.
    I'm on my 5th contract with them for Maxit TV, weekend calls and 100Mb. It plays out differently each year and this time I went directly to a UK call centre. End result £62pm up from £60. Once it hits £65 I'm out and I'll wait it out and see what happens.

    Like this thread suggests on hukd it's all a bit like a game and those who play it better win.

    We were on £26pm for 100mb which I didn't think was too bad. Its since gone up to £42pm in January now we're out of contract but as we're moving to an area with no Virgin coverage in a few weeks we'll be cancelling soon anyway, which I'm looking forward to.

    We mainly keep VM because of their better broadband speeds and that the wife don't want a dish on the house for the TV.

    Not many other options really
