I had mine done 5 years ago along with my sister and two of my mates. Having the procedure isn't as scary as I anticipated and the results are amazing. Honestly the best decision I ever made. I would recommend it to anyone.

Have you called each clinic and asked for statistics on the success rates of their respective surgeons? They should also be able to tell you what percentage of their patients have needed follow-up treatment.

Might be going too far to ask how many employees at the clinic still wear glasses, but it may offer you further reassurance.

So Ultralase just offered me 20% discount from my consultation prices last week. This thread appears to indicate they are the most reputable, any alterations on that since the last updates to this thread?

Very well. We all have to call him Ms Blizette now.

Don't know about Ultralase, but I had my eyes lasered with Accuvision at the end of July, can't fault them.

    Some testimonials here

How much did you pay, was it Wavefront?

£2.5k, Trans-Epithelial Surface Treatment (I think that uses wavefront)

Are you seriously expecting him to have made a decision and have done something? ;-P

I'm tempted by laser surgery too, and a while back I was looking at some promotional material from a swiss company, but something seemed a bit weird. Eventually it clicked that all of their doctors, nurses etc in their pamphlet were wearing glasses. Call me irrational but that put me off a bit...

Cheers, Ultralase is the same price for wavefront with their discount.
    Fuck it I'm doing it.

Went with Ultralase 10 years ago. Changed my life and its by far the best money I've ever spent in my life. Not had any problems since at all.

Mind you, on the day of the "procedure" I was sat in the waiting room and nervously picked up a copy of the Daily Fail. I scanned through it until I got to the centre pages which had a double page spread entitled "My lazer surgery hell". It was full of gory and scary looking pictures and was about an "undercover" reporter who had received botched treatment and was now unable to see properly. Just as I was about to finish the article, my name was called to tell me it was my time to go in to get my eyes "botched".

I passed the paper to the reception staff as I went in and suggested they "might just want to keep it out of the waiting room and check the centre pages"...

That sure would put the willies up you AngelDei, but Ultralase do seem very accomplished by the way they go about business. I like their lifetime promise as well.

Every story I hear about the surgery indicates that it's the best money they've ever spent.

I'm booked in for early December so fingers crossed, just wished it was done in time for my Warfighters laser recon x game this coming weekend.

All the people I know who’ve had it done have endless problems with it or it’s worked out completely fine. Seems to be a bit of a gamble, good luck to those brave enough to try it.

Anything to do with the eyes makes me a bit queasy. Even though my eyes are deteriorating, I don’t think I’d go through with it.

Grats on the shine job Blize.

I had mine done at Ultralase about 10 years ago. Worked a treat and I've only had a very small amount of degredation since then.

Only slight downsides are that I'm more photosensitive than I was, nightvision is slightly reduced and my eyes dry out a bit sometimes.

Well worth it though, especially if you do any kind of sport.
