That's a shame, I always rather liked his style of photography. -

Me too. My D70 cost about that and I've got three years out of it now, D300 for another 3, then maybe one of these D700s when they are cheap enough. -

I really don't think the D300 will drop to anywhere near £600 any time soon. -

As in, requested his account be deleted?
Why do people do this? What's wrong with, you know, just not clicking on your forum bookmark any more? Why delete e v e r y t h i n g?

Do you now see the point?

Registered 18 years agoThe way I look at it is the only thing it has over my D70 is an extra zero. Zero = nothing so therefore it has nothing over my D70.
/happily delusional -
The D700 looks amazing but at teh £1500-2000 price bracket the D3 starts to come into play as well. I think if your prepared to buy the D700 you may as well save a bit more and get the D3. -

Registered 18 years agoYeah it's really affected D3 prices, you can get one for £2,500 now, but the D300 is remaining frustratingly static
-
A D3 is down to £2,500???
I thought the D700 was going to go for £2000 - £2300 over here? Surely a D3 is more than £300 better? -
Again, this is exactly why they should have realeased the D3X before the D700. They've just fucked their product structure. -

The two really aren't that dissimilar from what I can tell, with the D700 actually improved over the D3 in places so it's not that surprising I reckon. -

Why do the Canon fanboys always come into the Nikon threads? I never see the Nikon lot in the Canon thread?
Oh wait, they have very, very small penises.
That’s why. -

Well in the self-cleaning sensor for one. Also has more button customisation or something. -

See Rutty's post!
Money aside, if I had to choose I'd rather have a D700 over a D3 purely because of size issues. A D3 is just too big and heavy for me to lug around with me - I would end up leaving it at home. I had a go at Pete's 5D with a grip and could barely lift the thing.
