The only 'clean' clothes I've got to wear are some jeans with slight mud stains around the knees, scuffed up nike trainers and a pair of boxers I've been wearing for about 4 days as the rest of my underwear seems to of mysteriously vanished..

Think she'll mind I'm a scruffy oaf?

Well the glue - once it dries - is to give it a shiny, glass-like surface. Could make an extra one for her, incase she feels left out. Presents on a first date are always welcomed.

A monocle would allow you to go dressed anyway you want, because it adds so much sophistication. Go in a full football kit. It'll highlight what a passionate person you are.
