| I liked the concept of the ending, but hated the way it had been put together. It really needs edited a little better. |

Registered 6 years agoKind of unexpected but I guess off the success of stuff like Stranger Things it's perfect time to cash in on King
Will definitely give it a go. I really enjoyed the film. -
Loved the film but don't really see the need for a tv show.
However, I did think that about Fargo and I loved the series of that so I'm willing to give it a shot.
Is Darapont having anything to do with it? -

Registered 8 years agoThat weird timing, watched the film last night funnily enough.
It fucking awful, but fucking amazing at the same time, still trying to make sense of it to be honest. -
What? The film is brilliant! Also best lovecraftian style film. -

What's so depressing about the ending anyway? I say that as someone who's seen the movie but struggle to remember much about it. -

Registered 16 years agoThat end-sequence coupled with Dead Can Dance's 'Host of the Seraphim' playing really helps with its impact. -

I just felt it was a bit all over the place, but i was pretty gripped by it. There some big glaring oddities in the film the made me want to shout out at the tv (for example the bit where the main guy is failing in trying to convince the others theres a monster outside when theres a tentacle lying on the floor out the back). But there were bits in that i genuinely enjoyed, the end of days women story arc i thought worked really well. Some of the community stuff felt a bit forced, but other times flowed quite nicely.

I did love the constant ramping up of oppressive atmosphere though.
To be honest i didn't really know what i was expecting, someone mentioned it to me in passing so thought i give it a whirl. Wasn't expecting the b movie feel, but also enjoyed it for that as well, ultimately ending up in some pretty memorable scenes. -

Registered 16 years agoThe TV version is some cringe inducing bullshit within minutes.
It has barely even opened and some fagaloon is going on about white male privilege, whatever happened to the characters just being there to carry the story? Making the story and characters a beast of burden to carry left wing talking points is deeply odious and heavy handed. -
Well yes, I also thought a show based on The Mist would have mysterious horrors as a central pillar. I'm not sure I can get past the cringe.
