Some seriously good stuff out so far this year. Love the build ups in the above track. -
I'm guessing everyone has the Burial and Four Tet collab? That's pretty awesome

The samples I heard sound good, still copies about on vinyl, no luck finding one myself, these low print runs annoy me, blink and you miss em cause muppets buy several copies and mark them up.
Hyperdub label that Burial put out his albums on is worth a look, takes risks too with other styles like the Wind it Up record that is big right now, oh and the new 12" by label owner Kode 9, got some of those broken beats vibes going on, broken beat being a primarily West London sound that has been overlooked by many, but is a big influence on a lot of artists like Martyn. -

Theres tons of them going on discogs and ebay, or I've got one I'll sell you for a fiver and the cost of sending it if you want. -

Yeah it's a stunning piece of music, but apart from the distant guitar drones, I don't really hear much Four Tet in it.
I so hope the rumours of a new Burial album later year are true. -

Registered 19 years agoYeah because a fiver and the price of postage is marking a record up.
fyi I only have one but I think it's shit.gif)
edit: just out of interest, why do you want the record? I dunno if the tunes are at a speed that'll mix with dubstep, and you'll be able to get an mp3 or something on boomkat.
(OR SOULSEEK EH DEATHGIBBON HAHAHA ARRRRR) -

Not sure if this was aimed at me or an edited post but I was just ranting about the state of things, how import prices are way up, how low print runs mean have turned vinyl lovers into trainspotters refreshing pages to see when new records are out, and how on limited edition (often colour vinyl which can degrade quicker) you see people buying several copies and putting them up for sale.
Anyways that sounds like a tempting offer, I'm away on holiday (woohoo!) from next week so not about to collect, but when I'm back towards the end of August if I'm not able to find a copy I'll PM you if thats ok.

Not going to pretend I have a great set up to hear a huge sound quality gap between vinyl and mp3 (would only get complaints form stuffy neighbours if I did
) and I'm not a DJ, I just like, money permitting to buy and play music on vinyl, needle to the turntable, and maybe put a few together for fun, so tempo and such isn't a concern for me. -

At any rate the record's not going anywhere so if you can't get a hold of one just drop me a line -
I wasn't having a dig at you, I didn't see your offer of selling the vinyl before I posted that's all!
If a record's out of print or rare I don't see the problem with downloading it, IMO. -

Oh right, sorry!
I think I mistook your bowing /o\ to be an inverted cheer and therefore bad -

What is dubstep, like dance music?
I know Burial, but that's about it. Bit too dark to 'dance' to but not bad otherwise. -

Registered 14 years agoBurial is minimal dubstep anyway, while you do get it played a lot on the 'dubstep scene' it isn't typical to everything else.
The real deal when it comes to dubstep (Kode 9, Darkstar, Junior Boys etc etc...) is very beat and bass heavy and far more dance floor friendly, if that's what your asking...
But as with most niche genres, a lot of the artists working within the dubstep genre don't actually like the term dubstep.
It's easier to listen to a good compilation like Dubstep Allstars 6, or anything off the Hyperdub label than to explain it really. -

Haha. I have Burial albums, only heard Nero remixes so wanted to focus my post on what I've heard most in detail!
Nero are good though, what I've heard from them. -

This is what really got me into Dubstep originally, back in April. The memory I have of it being played in the club with everyone singing along will stick with me for a long time, it was electric. -

Finally...
Plastician's new mix has just dropped - Dubstep LA
Name says it all - it's basically a 28 song mixtape featuring very prominent artists in the hip-hop scene versing over dubstep. Plastician himself, Jakes, Joker, MRK1, Benga, Youngsta, Chase + Status, DZ, Excision, Caspa, Rustle and more on production duties. Lots of this is all new. And it's all free!
