    Have pre-ordered this, think it will be a blast, especially after a few alcoholic berverages. £37.96 at Amazon which is pretty good I think

    That is pretty good; unfortunately Mystery Science Theater 3000 set XV must take precedence.

    Is it just me or is this the worst covered game in recent memory?
    We don't know how many events there are. We don't know if it has online(the cyckle clip sort of hints at it). Do we even have a release date? Was it the full version that was made available at E3?

    If so where the blooming fuck is all the extensive videos of each and every one of the events? Where is the EG hands on? (the only one they have is from last year)

    This is the follow up to the defining game of this generation. This might become the best selling video game of all times.

    Where is the coverage?

    Check the Nintendo homepage, the Nintendo Channel and Gametrailers for some videos.

    Release date is July on the whole planet if I'm not mistaken, though I think the Japanese get it first.

    But I cannot answer about the coverage on EG because I've given up on the main site -- given the target market for this game traditional gaming press is pretty irrelevant though isn't it?

    It's not out here until July 24th, but the lack of coverage is a little odd. It seems to have had quite a muted response, maybe because most people are assuming it'll be stripped down and aimed at casuals?

    As in, the five sports in the original were quite fully featured, but some of the ones here - like basketball, archery and swordfighting - come across as novelty minigames. I wouldn't be surprised if many gamers assumed that will be the case with the whole package.

    As for online, no sign of the Wifi thingy on the boxart, so not looking likely. Which is a shame.

    Ah OK. Well, archery is what definitely sold it on me. But I wonder if they will have all the training camps as in the first.

    As for the swordfighting I've seen snippets of 3 different gameplay modes. Basket ball has at least two
    3 on 3 and then the thing Reggie was playing on stage.

    If anything this highlights the need for a proper HYPE MACHINE.

    Come on Nintendo reps. Send me an evaluation copy.

    I think not having this be WiiSPeak and Online compatible, and include online Tennis, is a missed oportunity.

    In fact, I think they should have included all the original games in here too, just like they are doing with WiiFit Plus.

    There are modified versions of the original sports in there but yeah some are missing.

    Golf = Golf updated to 3, 18 hole, courses (I think)
    Tennis = table tennis
    Boxing = fencing.
    Bowling = in there again (well pointed out Kay and Tonka)
    Baseball = ?

    Pretty sure bowling is in there. That and golf means the two best games are covered, imo.

    Quite a few videos. I really hope Nintendo makes a proper Wave Race at some point. The engine shown in video #4 is great.

    I wonder if there's any indication that the WMP is connected and working in this. Grand Slam Tennis doesn't show any indication that you've got the WMP plugged in at all (it shows the instructional video link regardless). Major failing if the feckin' device can't even be recognised by the Wii as being there at all.

    Damn, don't tell me it's another plastic peripheral like the Mario Kart wheel and the Zapper...

    How did you think it was going to work? ;)
    The m+ attachment is ok. It doesn't add too much weight or make the controller feel unbalanced or over long (just about).

    I'm swinging the other way on this after the IGN Hands-on. I'm already happy with Bowling and Tennis on Wii Sports and don't play those much; I expect a quality standalone swordfighting game (No More Heroes: Desperate Struggle with M+ support? Non-crap Star Wars action title -- say JKIII?) in the future and the rest doesn't sound like a must have.

    Red Steel 2 sounds like it will be more likely to be my entry into M+-land.
