I finally got a great night of sleep due to the old reliable standby; Alcohol. The soporipic effect comes on without warning somewhere between a quarter and a third of a bottle of vodka.

The only downside, my right arm is covered in mosquito bites from when I was sleeping and vulnerable. I hope they died of alcohol poisoning.

Can we get a baseline of what people think a comfortable indoor temperature is? Just curious.

22 is my preferred in the winter for heating and 20 on the aircon at night in the summer.

I didn't have any heating on at all through the Winter. I like it cold.

It's 28 inside the house now with no aircon and the windows open and that's a bit muggy. I just stay outside in the garden all day.

    21 to 22.

Anything above 24 or below 19 and I get uncomfortable.

Temperature in home office is currently 25.6 I am not a happy Klingon.

That would be nice. Iike theidea of these heat exchanges instead of gasboilers, but not sure it'd cope in a draughty 1970's house up north.

Need to buy a newer, well-insulated home before trying that! Not one built by psychotext's builders either!

Tiny shaded windows seems to be the drawback. There was an interesting building featured in the FT the other week, which had taken concepts from a Roman villa, and had this lovely interior courtyard. I like some of the ideas used in the middle east and India, where interior water is used to cool the building…

I usually keep it around 23/4, but home AC can only do so much. There's a misconception that it's perfect climate control, which is only really true of big commercial sized units. In temp extremes it really only manages about a 6-10 degree reduction, so for the most part it's been in the high 20s indoors here, but it's tolerable as long as it doesn't creep into the 30s.

Same with me but I'm ok with 25.6, considering it's summer it's not too bad.

38-40 highs for the last month. Supposed to get a big fuckoff thunderstorm tonight though, which I'm excited for. Boom.

    With you Rum.

How do you lot in the Midlands and North West cope? Seems like relentless rain.

The weather app on my iphone is predicting thunder storms here between 7-8pm.

Which likely means clear skies and the temp going up a few degrees.

No rain predicted here until Fri evening. And even then it's only 40% chance for a few hours. Hopefully they'll break up before getting here.

We were predicted thunderstorms Tuesday-Friday and now it's sunny skies and 32 all week until Saturday when the miserable weather comes back.
