Don't worry, the missions get significantly better. The issue is most of the early stuff is the missions from years ago, partially refreshed. They did try to address this a little by mixing them around (the Wastelands missions are now a lot earlier) but it still leaves the best stuff until later.
The later you get, the more you get into missions developed later on that flow a bit better, are lighter on combat in places, allow for diplomatic resolutions rather than combat and just generally feel more like Star Trek. I could go into more detail but I'd be spoiling some stuff that I loved being a surprise.gif)
Finished the klingon war (chapter 2) and did have some great story ideas Enterprise C, tasha yar, the time portal thing from TOS but the missions are just janky. (Its like the engine is made with lolly sticks and PVC glue!
Pushed through the Wasteland Chapter (the last mission glitched out on the underground base) but restarted the mission and the door controls worked again.
If the game had modern engine and combat etc it would be amazing and also MMO style game design -

I'm really enjoying this so I feel I'll need to give them some money at some point. Even if it's just to open the lock box I got today. -

Might give this a go, need to decide which platform as no doubt a meaty download. Is there any major advantage to either console? Do I need Gold/PS+? -

Registered 16 years agoI think it still holds up pretty well in space. The ship models look pretty good and the effect are pure Star Trek.
On ground though, it is showing its age. It's a game designed to be playable on lower spec PCs so it's understandable enough, and they did overhaul the lighting system, but you can only do so much with those older character models. -
