@jamievilla just saying what happened on my sky+ hd box, maybe yours was better at being updated? Fingers crossed for you although I would imagine there's going to be a highlights showing or something. |

Registered 9 years agoBack to actual tennis, if Murray can win the Tour Finals, he'll end the season at number 1. You have to say on current form, he probably deserves it.
Going to be a very interesting season next year. Nadal will hopefully be back in good fitness, Federer has probably one last hurrah in him and Djokovic will be looking to re-assert the dominance he had in 2011.
3 Grand Slams completely up for grabs for any of those four guys next year. -
Yeah, next year is going to be really interesting. Love that four different guys won the Slams this year. -

Registered 9 years agoIt wouldn't at all surprise me to see an exact repeat of this year's Grand Slam results next year. Djokovic seems to have a special connection with the Aussie Open, some of his performances there have been unreal. Ditto with Murray and the US Open, it has always been his strongest event and he knows how to win the big one now. Federer will be looking to wind down his career with a win at his favourite event and pip Sampras to the undisputed top spot for most Wimbledon titles and the French Open will as ever be a foregone conclusion.
Definitely don't see any one player dominating the Grand Slams. -

I don't even think it needs saying! It's as close to a sure thing as you can get in sport.

It wasn't in my Tivo schedule which might explain why recordings went wrong - still had it down as Soccer AM: the best bits (~3 seconds of Tubes getting stabbed in the eyes). I'm sure Sky will milk the replays for the next week or so.
Sky+ is supposed to adjust the recording time if the schedule changes. -

Registered 10 years agoDid anyone catch the Murray vs Djokovic Shanghai final? Amazing match from both guys again. This could be another one of Tennis' great rivals, especially considering how closely matched they both are. -

Registered 10 years agoDjokovic did. He saved 5 match points in the second set to win in 3. Don't think I've seen anyone save so many match points and win games as Djokovic does.
Oh, and well done Heather Watson for winning the Japan open.

I just think this new and improved aggressive Andy sticks around, because it's the best version yet? -

Registered 10 years agoThat was a bit of an anti-climax in the Fed-Murray match. Andy started off positive but seemed to lose interest very quickly. Federer did hit some amazing shots, mind. -

It wasn't a case of losing interest, he just gave Fed a window of opportunity and Fed took advantage. Once Federer is ahead he's virtually impossible to stop and the 2nd set was some of the best tennis I have ever seen. I was in the front row and one end of the court.

Looking forward to today's final.

Registered 9 years agoDecent match but Federer was sloppy. Far too many unforced errors and his first serve seemed to dissappear whenever he was in a comfortable position. -

Registered 8 years agoThe Australian Open starts today, although the first round matches are shown here, in the UK, at midnight.
I have been to all four Grand Slams in person and there is something about being in Melbourne for a couple of weeks when the tennis is on ... more and more people gather around the Federation Square as the tournament goes on, which brings lots of people all over the world together!
The rivalry between Djokovic and Murray is always good to see, but they won't play against each other unless they both make it to the final. Oh, and it is a shame Nadal could not start his season here after having an injury layoff (for so long).
Anyone else watching/following these next two weeks with me...?
: )

Registered 6 years agoLol, no, just doing a volunteering thing. Going to Paris to see my dad - who is a globe-trotting scientist - but that is mostly for fun.
I worked in hospitality at the tennis, in corporate. I've seen a whole lot of Centre Court matches for free over the past few years \o/ -
