So Venus to win the womens and Federer to win the mens...

    Is it 2005?

No shame at all, she played really well, jumped from 2nd round finisher to a semi final in a year and has just got on with her game. Venus was just the better player unfortunately. I'm just waiting for a Daily Mail editorial to slyly mention how she isn't properly British really cos her name is a bit foreign sounding.
    Yeah that already happened yesterday.

Ha, Jesus. Like clockwork they are. Although I'm bemused by the commenter who thinks Mo Farah came here to further their career, we'll just forget he came here as a kid. Who needs research when it's just another swarthy foreigner. I'm guessing Greg Rusedski doesn't count.

I never really considered Greg Rusedski to be British either fwiw.

Lads it is easy, when any of the above (see also Murray) win then British, when they lose, Not really British.

Cilic is a tough player to watch. The amount of ball bouncing is painful. I actually hope he loses this match so I don't have be subjected to him for another potential five set match.

Fuck me but I really can't stand John Inverdale and his commentating. He just says some inane shit not even about the game mainly.

Agree about Cilic over-bouncing his balls but pleased he won. Seems well deserved on eleventh attempt and he comes across well. Thought Querrey was too much about the serve and made some poor shot choices.

All seems set up for a Federer victory though

Here we go! Might even get to watch an hour or so in relative peace.

I reckon Cilic might just spoil the party today.

His hand must hurt from all the ball bouncing.

Cilic looks like he's about to have a breakdown.

Yeah, Federer is all over him, and the apparent injury isn't helping.

I don't think anyone can question it, he's the GOAT.

Fully expecting him to be utterly gracious to Cilic during his speech.

Really? He doesn't seem that half bad as a person, as a barometer Nick Kyrgios is a cunt. Federer is nowhere near him.

How is he a cunt? Really, I want to know. By all accounts I've heard he is well-liked by audiences and fellow players. Is there something I've missed? Is there some interview where he's just let fly with insults? Did he spit on someone?

Apparently he's really into seal clubbing. It's what he attributes his great forehand to.

    @ecu

Did he take you out for dinner, sleep with you and not call you back?

He sounds like an absolute monster going from these stories by people who have met him.

That was some pulitzer prize winning stuff right there. On another note I'm watching the mixed doubles right now and yeah Hingis still scrubs up well, I'd definitely give her one. God I'm such a reet stud.

"One of the greatest humans to have set foot on a tennis court" is overstating it just a smidge. But really, given the plethora of grunting, racquet-throwing, injury-feigning, game-tanking, arrogant, disrespectful, self-absorbed wastes of oxygen that populate the world of modern professional tennis, singling out Federer for being a cunt is more than a little ridiculous.
