Murray wants to retire after Wimbledon, but might not make it past the Aussie Open

Sad end to the career of one of the greatest British sportsmen ever.

Not totally unexpected but really sad news about an incredible athlete and a good guy to boot.

Such a shame. Itís been coming, you could see that, but with Federer still winning majors in his mid 30s you could see Murray having several more years at the top if it hadnít been for this. A sad and unfair end to an amazing career.

In most other tennis eras Murray would likely have won at least half a dozen majors. He was unfortunate to play at the same time as three of the greatest players of all time. Three major titles is quite an achievement given the strength of the competition - no accident that Murray also lost a load of finals.

I thought Nadal was going to retire a few years ago with his knee problems.

Shame for Murray - guess there is nothing else he can do.. :(

Oof, Federer out at the hands of 20-year-old Greek player Tsitsipas.

It was a good match. I always love watching Federer, and he was playing well! But Tsitsipas was just on fire, he didn't make many mistakes at all.

It was good to see Osaka win and not have it spoiled by her opponent having a tanty. I would have been happy even if Kvitova had won, though - it was a very good women's final.
