Turned on tennis this morning, to see Nadal 2 sets up against Tsitsipas. Thought good stuff, routine win. Have various meetings, peruse BBC and he's only gone lost after 5 sets... ;_;
Might as well give the trophy to Djoko now ugh -

Registered 13 years ago@Tomo did exactly the same. Two sets to love Nadal but Tsitsipas holding his own in the 3rd
Had a conference call starting so switched TV off and then was back to back with other calls
Just saw the result now, must have been a complete turnaround as Nadal was imperious those first two sets -

Registered 15 years agoHeh, that was my first thought as well. Even though he’s actually pronounced Aswan it turns out.
What’s with all the people there? They lifted the lockdown? -

Registered 18 years agoOh should Medvedev be cancelled as well? I thought he was kooky but okay? Tell me if I need to recalibrate my woke-o-meter. -

Registered 19 years agoMedvedev has been a dick on court for years so yeah, it'll be dickhead vs dickhead. -

Registered 18 years agoThis is dickish, but the video is pretty funny: https://www.nytimes.com/2019/08/31/sports/tennis/daniil-medvedev-us-open.html
I'm not sure he comes close to being as much of a nob as Djoko... yet. Djoko organised a fking tennis tournament for his mates mid-pandemic, had a hissy fit when he got rumbled, and then they all got Covid after being pictured in Da Club. -

Registered 18 years agoAlso, Andy Murray behaved like a massive crybaby for years at the start of his career. He was hated for a long time until it became clear than he would actually be good and then England could pretend it had a Wimbledon Champion again. -

Registered 13 years agoI'm going for a Osaka/Medvedev double.
Osaka could dominate for ages if she can maintain the progress. -

Registered 15 years agoI was watching, it was much better. The score doesn’t do it justice. Djokovic is a machine, no doubt about it. He’ll get hit in the face once and you’ll see chrome under torn skin.

Registered 17 years agoI've not followed this at all closely and basically just got the headline synopsis, but is it really too much to ask that highly paid sports people do press conferences and so on for the organisation that pays them?
Definitely happy to concede I'm very ignorant and there's loads of stuff I'm not aware of here. -

Registered 9 years agoOn the one hand, yeah it's part of your job. But if you're suffering from depression, I could definitely imagine that having cameras in your face asking about your poor performance would be... not helpful. -

Yeah I feel that way too, although this would've all been avoided if she'd actually spoken to them first and reach a compromise rather than releasing it on social media so everyone found out at the same time. It's a terrible conclusion overall and the French Open organisers have basically come across as cunts and shot themselves in the foot.

She’ll be telling them lines should be moved next and they should just take it?
