Registered 19 years agoA habit? What are you talking about? I have postive feedback going back three years, I have never had a problem with anyone or anything and then I got my fingers burnt with the last guy (and it really is the last swapsie I'll ever do).
As I have written in the feedback thread, I sent a guy on a cheque for £125 which he sat on for 6 weeks but would not communicate with me at all. I sent one or two polite emails over the first month and, as I saw he wasn't online, I left it at that. Then the last three weeks he was here every day and posting but would not reply to a single PM I sent him! I still have no explanation from him from why this was the case. After sending polite emails, pleading emails, all sorts of emails and exhausting my options I acted like a prick and sent a stern email. This is absolutely out of character for me but the fact that it was the only email that elicited a response perhaps reveals more about Grayson than me.
What is the offical procedure on eurogamer for dealing with a swaper that just will not reply to any communication? Do you wait 2 months, 3 months without any reply and then write the whole thing off as a bad experience? If the swapsie involved £40 or £50 then I probably would have done that but £125 is a serious chunk of my budget.
This is terrible that I've got two eurogamer regulars who I respect but have never been in any contact with writing negative things about me. If you have any questions, any queries or concerns then please PM me or at least keep it in the feedback thread. Sorry about the long post clogging up the swapsie thread. -

Registered 19 years agoYeah, he said he still had the cheque and didn't cash it. That was a relief as I finally knew the situation and I went ahead and cancelled it. No explanation for why he didn't cash it in 6 weeks. -

Registered 17 years agoAh, that's different then. Yeah, the procedure is to give him negative feedback in the swapsies thread, and flag him whenever he tries to swap anything. If that doesn't get a decent explanation or an apology out of him, then nobody will swap with him. Can you confirm your cheque wasn't cashed? -

Yep, the cheque wasn't cashed. I had to cancel it in the end and of course the bank charges for that. I should have gone straight in with negative feedback in the feedback thread but I was so sick and frustrated with the whole thing and had wasted so much time that I just left it. -

I am very sorry to hear that you were in that situation and I apologise if it caused you any more distress. As you know, I barely sent you any correspondence for the first month. However, when you then started to login daily and post regularly in threads but not reply to a single PM of mine I thought you were taking the piss.

Besides, I can do you a far better deal giving you games rather than cash.
I've had a look through your gamercard and you don't seem to have played these games,
-Spiderman 3
-Shivering Isles
-Kane and Lynch
-Orange Box
-Vegas 2 (promo copy)
Some of those I'd be happy to go for a 2 for one on, Vegas 2 for AiTD seems especially relevant as they're both promo copies. -

Would that really stop you buying something ?
You might find that you miss out on a great deal in life if you only want to purchase something that someone else has paid for.
So you do not want it for £10 say, would your ethics allow that.
Tell you what I can do for you. You can have for free but the pandp is £18.
Lastly, shooting myself in the foot here, but it is not that great a game, but if you insist you can have for your K&L + Shivering Isles and Spidey 3 ? -
Well, no I wouldn't buy it for £10, I wouldn't buy it for anything more than postage costs. I wouldn't buy any game on here, I've bought one thing on this forum, a wireless network adaptor.
I just prefer to swap things, I find the whole thing much more satisfying, exchanging games like for like. I've always seen it as a 'friendlier' way to do business than with money. I don't know why, just do.
Kane and Lynch and Spidey 3 aren't great, I'd be happy to exchange both of those, in fact, pretty much any combination of 2 games I'd be happy to do. 3, full, not promo games for one promo game I've seen advertised at £24 new isn't a good deal for me. Plus my postage costs would be through the roof, I'd be looking at £3 - £4 at least. -

I think 2 games for AiTD is a fair deal, that's all I'm miffed about now but it's your game so quite obviously you're able to make any deal you wish
