Criterion Collection is coming to the UK

I love It Happened One Night and like the look of Speedy.

    Good news overall.

I would be more excited if Eureka and Arrow weren't already so good, plus Koch Media in Germany etc.

Criterion don't have the same cachet as they used to.

Just to confirm - I've now also watched the 3D version of the Max Max: Fury Road blu-ray. It's really epic.

It was the first time my wife watched through an entire film in 3D without complaining, and dare I saw it even enjoying it (I'd given her the option of switching to the 2D version after 10 minutes if she didn't like it...)

That might also be saying something about the improved standards of my new telly!

Predator getting a ground up 2K restoration. Not much about it in this article but the Dark Horizions one appears to be down. Resteration is being done by John McTiernan and will not be the mess that the current one is with the overloaded DNR.

    Linky

I don't understand the use of 2K. 4K is the horizontal resolution, so presumably 2K is too - which makes it basically 1080p (which is 1920x1080).

Amazon.com the best place to import? Used to use a site back in the hd-dvd days but can't remember the name.

I've had five orders from them in the last month, no probs. But, you pays your money and you takes your choice.

I've put my penis in a jar of wasps five times in the last month and not been stung yet. Fancy giving it a go?...

I've had stuff at almost half the price what it would've cost me to import through Amazon.com, free (fast) shipping and no customs hit either.

But buyer beware etc. I was willing to take the chance for the savings I got.

Fair enough... I used them back in the CDwow days and they were pretty appalling for customer service back then, and don't seem to have improved all that much.
Just had a quick scan through their prices, and they're pretty steep regardless (I'm guessing that's compensated by no delivery charge?)

    $800 worth of Hobbits!

  • Deleted user 22 August 2016 20:46:42
You'd have to be pretty special to pay that kind of money for a box set of films, even more so if it includes the three Hobbit films...

New Jungle Book on Blu Ray is spectacular, even more so if you have a 3D set. Genuinely jaw dropping visuals.
