Does it really count as a phobia if you just don't like something though? I mean, yeah - nails down a blackboard, or for some reason certain types of stainless steel when they're in hot water give me a right shudder but I don't fear them as such, I just dislike 'em.

On another note, a friend of mine is following therapy for arachnophobia, and I thought it would be a good idea to make her a t-shirt with the word 'Spiders' on the front, and 'not frightened any more!' on the back (well, I'm Flemish, so it was in Dutch obviously). I gave her the gift, she unwrapped it and at the first instant of seeing the front she threw it at my face and legged it, screaming at the top of her lungs. Mind you there were no pictures or anything, just the word 'spiders' in a black font. Had some explaining to do afterwards... :/

    :D

That's some effective therapy right there. :)

My stupid phobia is emetophobia. AKA fear of vomit. Specifically other people's. I'm scared of being sick myself, but that's nowhere near as bad as seeing/hearing/just knowing someone else is being sick. It's actually quite a horrible phobia to have when you're on public transport or in a pub or at the bus stop outside Finsbury Park station.

    Apparently it's really common too.

Yeah, my sister has it too. She's really scared when she has to be in a public place like a movie theatre, just because of the possibility of someone/herself becomming sick and having no immediate exit.
